Voting at the Bayswater Senior Citizens Centre on August 21st 2010.

I prefer to vote about half an hour after the polls open. That way I avoid both the initial crowd and the secondary crowd when the less enthusiastic voters get around to dragging themselves out of bed.

Parliamentary elections took place in Kuwait on June 29th 2006. In the days leading up to the elections, the streets in residential areas were filled with campaign posters like these.

I am running to be a Barangay Kagawad in our Village, this is one of the posters my children are making for me. No, I do not believe in buying votes like what other running mates are doing (in the village- even the whole country).

At least I will know if some people in our village will vote for me because they believe in me.

(L to R) My friend Vanessa, my Aunt Sue, myself, and my Mother stand proudly in front of an American Flag holding our voter reciepts. And we all voted for Obama. This was taken just before he was declared the winner of the election.

The Guildhall, Worcester, in the sunshine as the local election results are announced within. The English flag reminds us that this part of the country was staunchly Royalist and conservative (small 'c'); further reminders are the life-size statues of Charles I and Charles II in niches flanking the front doors of the Guildhall (not shown in this shot).

Edmonton has released election results as part of its open data catalogue. On the day of the election, the chart you see will update every 5-10 minutes displaying election results for Mayor, Councillor, Catholic School Board Trustee, and Public School Board Trustee in all of the separate wards.

MONTREAL, 2 AUG 2015: Council of Canadians and local groups gather at the YMHA to meet Stephen Harper as he arrives in Montreal to kick off his election campaign.

Saw this sign while visiting my Aunt a few weeks ago up around Eureka Springs....

Don't think I'd vote for this guy, since he grows up into Lord Voldermort (sorry, He Who Must Not Be Named).

I haven't voted yet. I tried to early vote on Saturday, first going to the main voting place downtown. The line was out the door and trailed out along the sidewalk. After that I thought I'd hit the main library in North Little Rock. The line was all still inside, but it curled and twisted around. I waited in line for about 20 minutes and gave up, going to take pictures instead. I'll try again tomorrow after work...

While we have no Tom Riddles here, there are a few cool names on our ballot. Residents in Pulaski County can vote to re-elect sheriff Doc Holladay, who apparently came to Little Rock after leaving the OK Corral. And a sign by my parent's house in NLR was for alderman Tom Jones - which is not unusual, I guess...

C'est le titre d'un excellent film, et c'était aussi une période électorale dans le Orange County. En plus le gars veut «restore american principles». Euh.

Trainings were divided into three sets, according to three different audiences: journalists were trained on media coverage before, during and after the day of elections; civil society organizations dealing with media were trained, on the other hand, on how to monitor the media coverage of the elections; and other civil society representatives participated in workshops on advocacy and coalition building in times of elections.

The pre-elections training session was co-funded by the governments of Estonia and Slovakia in the framework of the Community’s CD-UNITED mechanism.
