Dear hopeful children,
You haven't arrived yet, but you've been talked about nearly everyday.
Today your mother and I were able to vote in probably the most important election of our lives. You'll probably study these days in some sort of classroom.
We are in the middle of two wars, our national economic situation seems to get worse every day, and our reputation as a world leader has been severely tarnished.
In all reality your mom and I are doing well. We live very fortunate lives. The impact of this election between Barack Obama and John McCain will affect us, but not as severely as it could affect you. It is because of that, that we voted for and are supporters of Barack Obama.
I took this picture for two reasons. One to show you that I voted. The second reason would be to show off a bit. You see, I got to watch Barack Obama speak. I even took that photo I'm holding. It was incredible.
I'm sorry I'm not showing my face in this picture, but these days I work from home and don't shower and shave until right before your mother gets home, don't tell.
I wish you could see your mom today. She is a nervous wreck. She is away from her computer and TV and is writing me every hour asking for election updates... hilarious.
You'll for sure hear about this day, but I just wanted to note it down.
I love you,
your hopeful dad

Britain's opposition Conservative Party leader David Cameron visits a Coca Cola factory during an election campaign stop in Wakefield, England April 28, 2010. British Prime Minister Gordon Brown was caught on tape describing a voter as "a bigoted woman" on Wednesday after she confronted him on immigration and the economy in an election campaign walkabout in northern England. Brown made the unguarded comment in his car as he drove away away from a visit designed to bring him into closer contact with the broader public rather than carefully staged party meetings. It's not a good sign when the candidate for DA is illegaly placing signs all over the city. The Department of Sanitation forbids placement of easel-type signage on sidewalks without a license.
