Not really, this was shot about 8:30 or so in the morning....directly into a bright sun and a steam rising from the lake on a 26 degree morning...darkened it a bit and added a vignette for the effect I was enjoying....
IC 6260 thunders in for Boomers at track speed with the blowers and prime movers screaming the song that is unmistakable through the Northwoods. A narrow band of big flakes rains down to add just the right atmosphere to this Deathstar as they drag 145 back to Minntac on a cold January morning.

Created using GIMP
Originally, the Harris shutter was a device with three colour filters, allowing the photographer to make a single photo of a time series of shots with different primary colours. When the camera is kept steady, areas of the photo without any change end up having the same colour as in reality, whereas areas where motion takes place give a kind of rainbow effect.

Popped over to one of my favorite spots and was lucky enough that the conditions were almost perfect. Due to full moon the tide was higher and there was hardly any wind either so the water reflected the skyline better. Also bought a little platform just high enough to sit in the water with the lense just a cm above the water to maximise the reflections.
Two things that would improve this image. Shoot on a weekday to get all the office lights and NO wind whatsoever to get the perfect mirror image.
Image post processed in Photomatix. 7 exposures at F10, ISO 200 and focal length 24mm.
A different view of the Lloyd's Building in London. To me, it looks very sci-fi and reminds me of some dominos stacked on one another, hence the title.

Number 2 out do the paint booth for Linx Cargo Care is G534, formerly owned by Aurizon. G534 is seen departing Botany for Enfield Intermodal Logistics Centre with trip train T175. These services are presently managed and crewed by Southern Shorthaul Railroad. Generally 2-3 of these trip train shuttles run per day, with them regularly increasing in length and load.

Tell me all your lies
Play tricks on my mind
I don't care
I switched on the lights
You went on the side
I don't care
Why do you look so confused?
I know what you didn't do
You still want to play your games
I am wiser, I have changed
Yeah, and now the joke's on you
It's a side effect of love to lose control
Just to realize you're better on your own
It's a side effect of love to want it all
You can't get enough until the feeling is gone

The old Big Eddy Bridge at Revelstoke, BC
This was the Highway crossing of the Columbia River until 1965 and the Trans Canada Highway construction provided a new crossing via a suspension bridge just upstream of this one. Local traffic still uses this bridge in their daily commute into Revelstoke.

The Butterfly Effect: the phenomenon whereby a small change at one place in a complex system can have large effects elsewhere, ex. how a butterfly flapping its wings in Rio de Janeiro might change the weather in Chicago.

.. all those wee terraces which when you look at them closely are each a little track with hoof marks and a tufty edge
I used Cameringo, a mobile editing app., to create this first by creating a negative, then an effect called twist, deepx. 😄
just going back and editing old pictures.

Yesterday afternoon I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try some different processing techniques… in the hope of finding something that might improve this otherwise crappy image that I’d captured in Mouille Point a couple of weeks ago.
The processed B&W image didn’t look too bad on my large LCD screen at home… but now that I’m viewing it on my LCD here at work… it looks even crappier than the original colour version!! Oh well… I’m chalking it up as a learning experience! :)
Here is a link to the Photoshop tutorial that I used to create the "rain" effect.

This started out as an image of my shadow cast from a late afternoon sun while I was standing on a picnic table in a park. This is where it ended up.

On this day in the sky as the sun was sinking fast below the horizon, I noticed a jet flying high above in the sky. I took a few images of this awesome sunset, and decided to turn the camera at a 45 degree angle to give this sunset an "Angular Effect".

This is a effect on efffect on effect. Really this has much work on the original painting. A greting to all from Bogota. ...

The colourful Serin is the smallest finch here. This picture was taken in my garden. It is one of those things you do when you can go nowhere because of a pandemic. I noticed in the last weeks that this male Serin quite often used a particular low branch to check whether it was safe to proceed to the bird feeder. Hence I positioned myself on a chair close to it and waited. Two times it landed in the top of the tree and flew away but on the third time it came down, landed on this branch and stayed there so that I could take some photographs. Distance was less than 13 feet. Side effect: holding the camera with tele lens for 45 minutes at about the ready saves you from going to the gym. Don't let anybody tell you photography ain't no sport...
