Trees and scrub behind the pond are lit up by the afternoon sun and create an interesting visual effect on the water reflections...Thanks to jim (MyArtistSoul) for the title idea!

This image is the result of many years of trying and thinking about how to get the best results in single images of the Milky Way. For a long time I was planning to shoot a single exposure with these parameters of ISO 200, exposure time of 8 minutes. Here is an effect that will surprise many lovers of Milky Way photos. It turns out that with a suburban sky that is not too dark, you can basically deny the existing canons of photography.

So I went out my back door to take out the trash and there were over thirty Monarch butterflies in my tiny urban backyard! I thought I had walked into a magical dream.

Athena at Jack-adder lake

In the mystical realm of possibilities, where the boundaries of reality and chaos intertwine, a fascinating convergence occurred. In this captivating dance between moths and destiny, the butterfly effect unfurled its wings, weaving a tale of interconnectedness.

I saw the rising moon lighting-up the anvil canopy of a distant thunderstorm, and waited until the moon broke free. It created a nice effect.

It is always difficult to focus on a main subject and make the background blurry. If we use big aperture or small F number. The subject will not be completely in focus. That is why we use the focus stuck and combine at least five pictures together. The sun in the background creates special bokeh effect, and the lens type and post processing software create circular effect. I want to have better pictures, but it takes time and effort. Have a wonderful weekend.

I seem to have accidentally spilled in the whole bottle of depression into the mix.

Enjoy a little colour in the midst of the spoopy season. It'll do you good, I swear it.

A toy electric motor as a 1:1 macro. I suppose it belongs to the series "Märklin Metall" from the early 70ies. This was a modular kit system made of metal to construct mechanical things for older kit. This one is a still working motor, driven by a 9V battery. The copper wires induce a magnetic effect propelling this motor like in every electric driven engine.

There was a super-bright rainbow going on behind me but the prismatic effect of these raindrops was something else...!!!

Baby Brian as the star performer with the Cirque du Snail.

Title inspired by an old song, written in 1867 that has been used in films and recorded many times, including by Bruce Springsteen! www.youtube.com/watch?v=voXHqkN2k9Q

For Macro Mondays theme 'Hook'.

The hooks were set up against a black background using strong sunlight as backlight to glow through the translucent body of the tiny snail. The 'spotlight' effect came from a headtorch with four LED lights suspended in front of the background. The photo was approximately 6cm across.

No snails were harmed in the making of this photograph. The ends of the hooks were not sharp, and I insisted that Baby Brian have a safety net.
