I have to laugh. Flickr put this shot in a Congressional District. This picture was taken at Robert H. Long Nature Center in Commerce, Michigan.
This set of 3 shots where taken of some steps leading up to a flat in Faversham (UK). The original shots where very cluttered with lots of buildings etc in the background, as it was the pattern of the stairs that originally drew my eye I have removed that and then pushed up the contrast to get this effect.

For a long time, I have wanted to capture the JCB with a long exposure at high tide at sunset. This trip to Elgol with the intrepid members of the STS provided such conditions. But I hadn't anticipated the strong wind that carried sea spray up onto my camera lens! The 30 second exposure may have been too long, but I like the milky effect produced by the 10-stop filter and there was no need to smear Vaseline over the lens for that 'soft-focus' effect. By the time I thought to try something shorter to get some details of wave action, I found myself surrounded by the tripods of several members of the STS, and I was reluctant to get to my camera bag to return the filter, having left it well back from the precarious rocks. Lesson learned - always challenge the STS, and keep your camera bag close...
Played on new art styles, hope ya like ? ! :D

This is the Butterfly, a tower that is almost completed in downtown Vancouver. I couldn't get too near it as there was still a construction fence around it. Designed by Bing Thom (now Revery Architecture).

Whether it be rivers, roads, tracks in fields -I've got a thing about meandering curves, and I know I'm not the only one!
A lot of us develop it.
Here one of my all time favourite trees; the invaluable Japanese maple variety "Sango Kako" formerly "Senkaki"
or coral bark maple, displays not only its glowing sealing wax red bark, but also the flowing curves which make up its elegant and graceful form.
The red & orange stemmed dogwoods & willows are also beautiful but not in the same league for intense colour & habit.
Had to use the 300mm lens to isolate the curving branch, so you don't get the full effect here but artistically it did what I wanted & gave the Bokeh of course.
Every afternoon around 3pm in my garden the sun lights up this tree & it glows brighter than any tree or shrub in full flower from October through to April - hope you like it :)

This beautiful comma butterfly was today fluttering around my garden here in good old Bristol.
It was a small one compared with many others I have seen recently.
Maybe it's a juvenile ?
There has been a shortage of butterflies so far this summer, but things are eventually improving and more are arriving daily .... and that's just brilliant as I really like butterflies fluttering around my garden flowers!

We were getting a lot of lake effect snow and squalls this weekend. This fishing boat was coming back into the Meaford harbour just in the nick of time.

Back to my post from yesterday for HSoS.
First of all, I would like to thank all the lovely Flickrities for the wonderful comments on yesterday's topic - title wanted - , everyone could have been right.
In my tags I announced that there would be a second photo, actually I should have posted it the other way around, but then the story would be a lie :)
On an autumn walk I suddenly heard a noise and it was anything but heavenly. The little rascal growled violently and it sounded like this: "Don't dare to come closer, or my huge friend will hug you" :-) and indeed, there he was! I then went on quickly ;-))
Can you see it? It wasn't predictable, the Labrador Effect ;-)))

The two dogs are very happy and live and guard on a small horse farm, with adjoining small pond, a paradise for anglers. I'm only sad myself because I couldn't stroke them.
