War between two species. A Lone Fly and an Angry Wasp.
What follows is the progression of a fight to the death, two shall enter and only one shall leave alive! (with the rear end of the looser!)
Here are the details.
I was taking pictures and something fly past my face, it was big and noisy like a helicopter. I followed it as it struck the floor, as I got closer I noticed it was a large fly and a Wasp embraced. I got closer still and whipped out my camera and started taking as many pictures as I could, but the more I watched and the closer I got with my camera the more disturbing it all became!
These images were took quickly, and it was hard to keep up with the action as they were fighting for about 10 minutes and moving all over the place as the fly kept trying to fly away, while the Wasp was held firm around its body, even when it was totally decimated.
So forgive any blur and movement and lack of perfection.

The fly is taken down hard as them crash into the floor and start to rumble.

The Wasp stars to clip the legs off the fly! My good holy god!

After most the legs have been bitten off the Wasp starts with a wing!

Then it starts on the head of the fly, blinding the bugger. Notice the little legs scattered around the battlefield.

Slowly the Wasp moves to the fly’s body.

Holy Moley!!!!!!! The Wasp stars to bite at the fly’s mid section, quickly and over and over again in a flurry of action.

No Way!
Yes Way, indeed the Wasp has bitten clean thru the fly’s full body and with the help of its feet, ripped apart the fly into two separate parts. Now that’s what I call power.
All the while the fly is still twitching away, as its obviously still kind of alive, but no matter the Wasp flies away with the lower half of the fly’s body.

The End. The fly twitches a little more with its stubs and one wing and dies.

Four off-white horses inhabit a very old farm I visited recently. Seeing them all together is a treat, at least to me as I used to have an old Welsh pony-Quarter horse who was similar in color. Getting these four to stay in a nice neat bunch for photographing is another matter!
This photo didn't have much of an impact so I took the liberty of adding a watercolor effect. Horse-lovers know that horses can be dreamy and subtle just like watercolors, at least when they're not headed back towards the barn and their grain... :)

I was trying to take a pic, couldn't understand why the camera couldn't focus. I thought my viewfinder was cover with steam, but then I realized it was the lens that was steamed. I just got home from work with horrible running nose, wasn't thinking straight... rather liked the effect and having a cold couldn't be bothered with another photo - so you have to excuse me ;-)

Meh! Like to play around sometimes and do a silly shot. This was a shot of a little old school. When edited with the "rotating mirror" effect, warped into what looks like one tiny steeple. Interesting....
It's not warmth that works the worst at melting ice. Sun is the most genuine culprit, a magnifying glass effect to hollow out the heart of formations taken weeks to form. It's an impatient energy, beating down in blinding places, no shade or shelter found. For a soundless shining, it sure inspires a lot of noise. The glass-like shatter of icicles crashing, the constant dripping droplets; everything insisting quite falsely that winter is ending. There is no attitude more temperamental than the sea, bitterly locking up rebellious swaths of water, only to set them free with wind and waves days later. I try to be there for the jailbreak, watch what's next for the spirit of sighing impatience. The great escape is still a few weeks off.

November 28, 2017: Johns Hopkins SAIS experts joined the school for a conversation on the impact of Trump Administration policies on the study and practice of international affairs.
Combining my newly purchased Panasonic Leica D Summilux 25mm f/1.4 with a Tiffen#12 Yellow Filter and my full spectrum converted camera make for some surreal images. The sharpness of this lens even in the Infrared spectrum, which is known for producing soft focused images, wide open is amazing. Thanks Eric for selling me the lens :D
Meelee is having a bad day, and I looked to see if I had any leftover nausea medication from when Hodjee was sick. I'm talking to Meelee's vet tomorrow. She wasn't working today.
While looking through medications, I found Hodjee's thyroid medication and it is EIGHT TIMES the dosage Meelee is taking. I looked up side effects online since the dosage was so different. Even though they have a different name, they are the exact same medication. That could be a normal dosage for a cat, but the main side effect for overdosing on this medication is internal bleeding, which Hodjee had in her last 9 days with me. The 9 days she was on this medication. Dumb-ass veterinarian didn't pick up on that... IN SPITE of me taking her in and showing them her entire underside was purple. They kept her on the medication. I think she would have died anyway very soon, but shitty veterinary care sped up that process. THANK YOU shitty veterinarian for letting me kill my cat twice a day for 9 days with an overdose. This is why I changed veterinarians.
