NOV 4, 2013-- Lt. Governor Matt Denn paid a visit to Georgetown Elementary School, one of the 2013 Recognition Schools. Principal Stong, and both Assistant Principals accompanied the Lt. Governor on a tour of the school. Lt. Gov. met a current teacher of the year, former teacher of the year, and many great educators who had suggestions and advice to share. He dropped in on a PLC and observed a couple of classrooms as well. Additionally, Georgetown takes safety of their students seriously, as Lt. Governor Denn was put through their new state-issued ID scanning system. He also met the school's Security Monitor. It was a visit well worth the trip!

They include options for video conferencing programs into their classroom, DocsTeach online resources and lesson plans, Learning Labs, field trip planning, and more during an Educators Open House at the National Archives in Washington, DC, on September 13, 2018.
Every year, the College of Education hosts a back-to-school thank-you reception for Pullman-area educators, in particular the Pullman School District, with whom the college has had a special relationship for a number of years. This year's event took place at South Fork on August 22.

The National Association of Cuban American Educators (NACAE) awarded "Educator of the Year 2012" Dr. Modesto A. Maidique, President Emeritus of Florida International University (FIU), Alva H. Chapman Jr. Eminent Scholar Chair in Leadership, Executive Director of the Center for Leadership and Professor of Management, Faculty of Business Administration, all at FIU. Dr. Maidique was FIU President for 23 years, the first Cuban-American university president in the U.S.
The event also gave the scholarship NACAE "Gastón Fernández de la Torriente" the student Carolina Sanchez

The Valdosta-Lowndes Retired Educators' Association held their November meeting on Monday, November 12, 2012 at the Holiday Inn in Valdosta, GA.
The Valdosta-Lowndes Retired Educators Association held their monthly meeting on February 14, 2011 at the Holiday Inn on Hill Avenue in Valdosta, Georgia. The speaker was Jeff Stubbs with Georgia Tourism. Each attendee received a Georgia Tourism gift bag with a Georgia Travel Guide. After the business meeting, about 45 members enjoyed the delicious buffet prepared by the Holiday Inn. On the buffet was garden salad, fried and baked chicken, beef with green peppers and onion with riced, stewed yellow squash, butter beans, rolls, butter, and banana pudding. It was served with tea, coffee, or water and was enjoyed by all participants.
