El 27 y 28 de febrero se desarrolló en la USFQ el Surgical Educator Accelerator, en colaboración con Operation Smile y Fundación Operación Sonrisa Ecuador, con la participación de cirujanos de América Latina y el Caribe. Las jornadas incluyeron ponencias, conferencias de expertos internacionales y espacios de reflexión sobre educación quirúrgica, orientados a fortalecer las competencias pedagógicas de educadores quirúrgicos.

Every year, the College of Education hosts a back-to-school thank-you reception for Pullman-area educators, in particular the Pullman School District, with whom the college has had a special relationship for a number of years. This year's event took place at South Fork on August 22.

I'm not sure what's worse, the falling score of Grade 6 in the "believe teachers are interested in them" measure or the fact that our local school district can't correctly spell the description of that category. Either way, it's pretty sad.

 

On the bright side, the survey scores reflect an improving atmosphere in Minnesota public schools.

The National Association of Cuban American Educators (NACAE) awarded "Educator of the Year 2012" Dr. Modesto A. Maidique, President Emeritus of Florida International University (FIU), Alva H. Chapman Jr. Eminent Scholar Chair in Leadership, Executive Director of the Center for Leadership and Professor of Management, Faculty of Business Administration, all at FIU. Dr. Maidique was FIU President for 23 years, the first Cuban-American university president in the U.S.

 

The event also gave the scholarship NACAE "Gastón Fernández de la Torriente" the student Carolina Sanchez

On Wednesday, June 21, 2017, more than 150 teachers, education workers, parents, and other concerned community members rallied on the steps of the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) office to call on Board officials and Trustees to address the growing concern of inequitable Full-Day Kindergarten (FDK) class sizes.

The Valdosta Lowndes Retired Educators Association met on Monday, April 8, 2013 at the Holiday Inn in Valdosta, Georgia.

Dave, an Educator from Squam Lake Natural Science Center, gives a "Natural Encounters" talk at the Currier Museum Art Center the last week of summer camp, in August 2012, about threatened and endangered New Hampshire animals. The Art Center students, ranging in age from 5-12, created bat "lanterns" that they then sold at the conclusion of this week-long art camp to help raise money for Bat Conservation International. The event raised a little over $400 for this non-profit.

 

The Currier Museum Art Center, Manchester, NH, offers classes, workshops and camps for children, teens and adults and is associated with the Currier Museum of Art.
