Race2Recovery Castrol Edge wrap

Back after some technical (human) difficulties so I'm only just posting this now from the start of August.

Original caption:

I got back from my week long photography-camping trip today and promised myself I wouldn't touch the photographs for a few days before doing any kind of editing.

Well, clearly that didn't stick, did it? I tried my best, really I did! For all of two hours?

My first shot of the trip was taken in an absolute scramble. Just an hour previously I'd finished set up camp at North Lees, I legged it up Stanage Edge with my boil in a bag tucked into my jacket. I missed the intense orange sidelight from golden hour, but this was more than made up for by the post sunset blush. Scouting a location pays dividends, I shot this composition in June and knew exactly where I wanted to head, which greatly aided my time sensitive shoot.

I'll post more photos from the week along with the stories behind them, I've a lot to work through; eighteen separate shoots in total with two or three compositions each...lots to do.

Summer in the British Isles is a true study-travel program! The first 3 of its 5 weeks of are spent in northern England, at Edge Hill University in the small town of Ormskirk. Frequent excursions around scenic northern England enhance classroom work and provide you with a truly British experience. You will get to check out the Beatles’ hometown of Liverpool, as well as Manchester (as in Manchester United, one of the world’s most popular “football” team), both less than an hour from Ormskirk.

Then it’s off to bustling London for 5 days of sightseeing and exploration. Watch the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, take a ride on the London Eye for a spectacular view, see Big Ben and Abbey Road, and grab a friend to check out the hopping downtown music scene or one of the West End's many theaters. London’s diverse population is yet another reason why this one of the most exciting cities in the world.

Week 5 will be spent in Ireland. Tour the capital city of Dublin, Trinity College, Sligo, the Yeats Memorial Building, Galway, and the Aran Islands. Dublin is well-regarded for its residents’ hospitality, friendliness, and humor. Be sure to pick up some Gaelic, check out a Celtic music concert, kiss the Blarney Stone, visit the Irish coastline, hear traditional fiddle music at a pub, and see small-town Irish life.

So I took a trip out recently and it was the first trip in a while given the recent cloudy weather (Which should be no excuse). I had hoped to get to The Trinnacle and Raven Stones but the valley was much steeper and the river too wide and fast flowing at the bottom with all the recent rain to get across. I made do with this shot and will return soon to get to my intended destination by a slightly different route!
