The Michigan shoreline features numerous condominiums and office buildings in various styles. Here, they converge into abstraction.
Most noticeable on the left is the Aqua, is a beautiful new building located near the harbour with an ornate exterior design achieved by pouring each concrete floor plate in a unique wavy pattern. The external variations mean some residents have spacious balconies that are very long and wide; others have ornamental balconies that are very short and far too narrow even for a chair.

This location opened in 2011 and closed in January 2019; it was originally Riverdale Theater, which opened on July 1st, 1965. An additional screening room was built on a few years later, which officially opened on May 6th, 1971; the theater was renamed Riverdale Twin Theater. The theater was remodeled in spring 1991 and re-opened that June 14th as Riverdale 99 Cinemas/Riverdale Plaza 3; one of the screening rooms was split in half and the theater began showing second-run films. The theater closed in August 1998. The building was demolished in summer 2019 to allow for more parking spaces for the new Kroger built adjacently.

I went with a friend to Rocks State Park in Maryland to visit and explore the King and Queen Seat. The KaQ Seat is a natural 190 foot rock outcrop. While there, a group of cub scouts were there taking a trip. Several children (including the boy pictured) walked around the rock. It was a beautiful fall afternoon when this was taken and all the trees had started to change color. The sky was completely white, but I was still able to capture the wonderful autumn colors.
Kids were walking all over the rocks and my friend and I had bets on who would fall off first. It was so beautiful up there and the middle of fall made all the colors wonderful.
Personally however, I would have died if I were put in charge of kids walking around on a structure with a 200 foot dropoff point.

A closeup of the leading edge of the starboard wing of a Curtiss SB2C-4 Helldiver that was brought up from the depths of the Otay Reservoir in Chula Vista, CA on August 20, 2010. This plane was on a routine training mission on May 28, 1945 when it suffered an engine failure. The pilot ditched it into the reservoir with no injuries to himself or his gunner. The condition of the plane is amazing in that most of the paint and stenciling is still evident after nearly seven decades underwater.

India Runway Week every season introduces 10 new faces in New Gen category. This season New Gen designers are Farzana Rahman, Surbhi Jain, Rifali Chandra, Sanya Garg, Paneri Gosar, Vanica Chhabra, Govinda Raju, Sweta Kedia, Rahul Kapoor, Neha Yadav.
Farzana Rahman showcased traditional Indian wear which focused on styles catering to traditional themes, cultures and thus being wearable on every occasion. Surbhi Jain’s collection was named 'print party' This season she had fallen head over heels over print with a graphic edge. In this line she has used bright colors, feminine prints, flowy fabrics and comfortable fits. she likes to have a kitsch, bold and experimental approach. This collection is a cocktail of print and color. Rifali Chandra’s The Spring Summer 2015 Edenfista collection was based on theme of dreamy fable inspired from the Moroccan intricacy and sophistication. The incredible Morocco has Quirky and Fanciful style that evolves throughout the Making and brings joyous visual expressions with its subtle details. This tale has an emotional yet bold style of illustrating its elegance. Sanya Garg’s Ilkbahar was a mirror of spring culture- fresh, bright, romantic and intricate. The glimpse of dull gold and bright hues gives it a sense of charm and elegance. Paneri Gosar’s collection was a reflection of indo western wears and was all about trendy, classy and occasional wear in the colors of white, pinks and gold. Vanica chhabra’s collection was inspired by Delhi culture, trends and ghantaghar. It was a vibrant collection and quite unique in its own way. Govinda Raju’s collection was an inspiration from KAMASUTRA on KHAJURAHOO TEMPLES. Sweta Kedia’s break the rules is a collection inspired by uniforms across all walks of life: school, army, air hostesses, butlers and navy. Uniforms have always provoked a sense of authority, power and style. Rahul Kapoor "Fuelled by fusion" RAHUL KAPOOR ushers you to his new spring sunmer 2015 collection 'REDIFINING ROYALTY '. Neha Yadav’s collection was inspired by modern sensibilities and cosmopoltitan styling to match the interplay of form, surface texturing and cuts, bringing together a cognitive mix of contemporary and conventional ensembles.
India Runway week is the youngest fashion trade event of the country.

Stanage is the largest and most impressive of the gritstone edges. Situated on the moors north of Hathersage, and visible from miles away down in the Hope Valley, it stretches for a length of approximately 4miles from its northern tip at Stanage End to the southern point close to the Cowper Stone (near Burbage Rocks).
It is a famous location for rock-climbing and a popular spot for walkers.
Stanage's situation is high and it can be snowbound in winter.
For most of its length it lies between the 1,300 and 1,500 ft contours. The rock face itself attains a maximum height of 85 ft, but for most of its length it is between 50 and 60 ft high.
The high point of the main edge is at High Neb (1,502 ft), which lies near the north end.

The Wellington Monument situated high on Baslow Edge a thousand feet above sea level is a stone cross some ten feet high. It is dedicated to the Duke of Wellington and a celebration of his victory at the battle of Waterloo in 1815.
It was erected by a local man, Dr Lieutenant Colonel E. M. Wrench, who as an army man, felt the need to counterbalance the memorial dedicated to Admiral Nelson on nearby Birchen Edge.

Hawa Mahal (English translation: "Palace of Winds" or "Palace of the Breeze") is a palace in Jaipur, India, so named because it was essentially a high screen wall built so the women of the royal household could observe street festivals while unseen from the outside. Constructed of red and pink sandstone, the palace sits on the edge of the City Palace, and extends to the zenana, or women's chambers.
HISTORY
The structure was built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. It was designed by Lal Chand Ustad in the form of the crown of Krishna, the Hindu god. Its unique five-storey exterior is akin to the honeycomb of a beehive with its 953 small windows called jharokhas decorated with intricate latticework. The original intention of the lattice was to allow royal ladies to observe everyday life in the street below without being seen, since they had to obey strict "purdah" (face cover). The lattice also allows cool air from the Venturi effect (doctor breeze) through the intricate pattern, air conditioning the whole area during the high temperatures in summers. In 2006, restoration and renovation works on the Mahal were undertaken, after a gap of 50 years, to give a face lift to the monument at an estimated cost of Rs 4568 million. The corporate sector lent a hand to preserve the historical monuments of Jaipur and the Unit Trust of India has adopted Hawa Mahal to maintain it. The palace is an extended part of a huge complex. The stone-carved screens, small casements and arched roofs are some of the features of this popular tourist spot. The monument also has delicately modeled hanging cornices. Just like the other monuments of Jaipur, the palace is also constructed in pink and red colored stone.
ARCHITECTURE
The palace is a five-storey pyramidal shaped monument that rises 15 m from its high base. The top three floors of the structure have a dimension of one room width while the first and second floors have patios in front of them. The front elevation, as seen from the street, is like a honeycomb web of a beehive, built with small portholes. Each porthole has miniature windows and carved sandstone grills, finials and domes. It gives the appearance of a mass of semi-octagonal bays, giving the monument its unique façade. The inner face on the back side of the building consists of need-based chambers built with pillars and corridors with minimal ornamentation, and reach up to the top floor. The interior of the Mahal has been described as "having rooms of different coloured marbles, relieved by inlaid panels or gilding; while fountains adorn the centre of the courtyard".
Lal Chand Ustad was the architect of this unique structure. Built in red and pink coloured sand stone, in keeping with the décor of the other monuments in the city, its colour is a full testimony to the epithet of "Pink City" given to Jaipur. Its façade depicting 953 niches with intricately carved jharokhas (some are made of wood) is a stark contrast to the plain looking rear side of the structure. Its cultural and architectural heritage is a true reflection of a fusion of Hindu Rajput architecture and the Islamic Mughal architecture; the Rajput style is seen in the form of domed canopies, fluted pillars, lotus and floral patterns, and the Islamic style as evident in its stone inlay filigree work and arches (as distinguished from its similarity with the Panch Mahal - the palace of winds - at Fatehpur Sikri).
The entry to the Hawa Mahal from the city palace side is through an imperial door. It opens into a large courtyard, which has double storeyed buildings on three sides, with the Hawa Mahal enclosing it on the east side. An archaeological museum is also housed in this courtyard.
Hawa Mahal was also known as the chef-d'œuvre of Maharaja Jai Singh as it was his favourite resort because of the elegance and built-in interior of the Mahal. The cooling effect in the chambers, provided by the breeze passing through the small windows of the façade, was enhanced by the fountains provided at the centre of each of the chambers.
The top two floors of the Hawa Mahal are accessed only through ramps. The Mahal is maintained by the archaeological Department of the Government of Rajasthan.
VISITOR INFORMATION
The palace, called a "specimen of fanciful architecture", is located to the south of the Jaipur city, at the main road intersection called the Badi Chaupad (big four square). Jaipur city is well connected by road, rail and air links with the rest of the country. Jaipur Railway Station is a central main station on the broad gauge line of the Indian Railways. As well, Jaipur is connected by major roads, and by the International Airport at Sanganer, at a distance of 13 kilometres from the city.
Entry to the Hawa Mahal is not from the front but from a side road to the rear end. Facing the Hawa Mahal, turning right and again to the first right, leads to an archway entry and then to the rear side of the building.
It is particularly striking when viewed early in the morning, lit with the golden light of sunrise.
