Misty Morning

Upper Falls

Tahquamenon Falls State Park

Paradise, Michigan

Tahquamenon Falls is a breathtaking tapestry of nature's splendor on a cool autumn morning. The crisp air is filled with the earthy scent of fallen leaves, and the mist rising from the powerful cascade dances in the early light. The falls roar with a deep, soothing thunder, sending a fine spray that catches the sunlight.

“My mother is soil and rain,

clay, ash, sand, sun and moonlight.

My mother is a weeping willow—

strong, daring, dripping.

My mother is oceans so salty and wild

she can consume whole cities—

but, mostly, she chooses to be calm turquoise,

washing softly over toes in sand.

She is vast—

some places un-navigated.

She is offering, felt without words, sacred, and restful.

She grows life." - Ashley Asti

This week's theme for Mosaic Montage Monday was Earthy Greens. There is a place in the Greenhaven-Pocket area of Sacramento called The Trap. The building has been here since 1861. I noticed they recently refurbished their sign and was hoping to see it lit up. Either it was not working or they didn't turn it on, though. The place was packed and their cafe lights were on and that was good! HMMM!

The end of Endless Summer :-( Once the winter storms hit, the flower heads and the leaves will be battered. Sad, but it should return again happily next spring!

The colors are now becoming more earthy and rich! As with people, the leaves get more interesting with age.

There's a cabinet in the shop area of the Tangled Garden with a small and lovely collection of Pots, shells and what I like to call earthy things. It always catches my eye, I have uploaded vignettes from this cabinet before but this time I think the light was much better and the collection even more appealing.

A bit out of season, but an image I edited for a demonstration of the Earthy tones actions with some of my vignettes. You can see it here, skip to the area near the end of the video to see the edit. jessicadrossin.net/product/jd-beautiful-world-earthy-tint...

Earthy Powder Caps one of our group spotted these under a tree, so we all took turns in crawling under to get photos, there were loads of them all around the tree and looked lovely, I just love the stem with that stocking on and all the crumbling on the caps.

The work presents a tranquil, earthy, and somewhat sacred atmosphere.

The painting is dominated by earth tones: the gray-brown of the mountains, the deep red and khaki of the figures' clothing, and the mottled colors of the clothes hanging out to dry create a calm and natural visual experience.

The overall soft lighting, lacking stark contrast, further enhances the tranquil atmosphere. The silhouettes of the two figures draw the eye into the distance, echoing the rolling mountains in the distance, creating a sense of depth and space.

The slanted lines of the clothes-drying railings add a sense of dynamism to the painting and connect with the direction of the figures' journey. The monks walking along the rugged mountain path in the painting suggest a journey of spiritual practice or pilgrimage.

The clothes hanging out to dry evoke an atmosphere of everyday life, skillfully blending the sacred and the secular. The overall atmosphere conveys a sense of tranquility and solemnity, transcending the mundane and returning to one's true nature.

The earthy essence of boho living brought me to Africa and to these amazing creatures, deeply connected to nature that I have always been fascinated with. JIAN African Elephant collection includes a companion, a mounted version and a wanderer, and super cute animations such as the water bath and even a dance.

I am wearing MINA and EPOCH releases for the ongoing boho chic fest, Velvet Bohème:

MINA Ygritte hairstyle is just perfection. Beautiful PBR textures and the perfect framing of the face, with options to include the braids in front and change the beads of the braids.

EPOCH knocked it out of the park with Rayna set. Baggy flowy pants, puffed-sleeve top and sandals putting together one of my favorite looks available at Velvet Bohème, with several color and prints options to mix and match in the full pack.

This digital painting portrays a narrow street scene in Catanzaro, Italy, with a distinct impressionistic style that gives the artwork a textured, almost dreamlike quality. The street is lined with aged buildings, their façades colored in warm ochres and earthy tones that contrast with the cooler, grey sky above. The architecture reflects the historic character of the city, with balconies, arches, and stone walls adding depth and perspective to the composition.

In the foreground, a figure walks along the left side of the street, carrying a bright pink bag that stands out against the more muted background. The person’s features are blurred, suggesting motion or a focus on the broader atmosphere rather than on specific details. The figure's attire in dark blues and the vivid bag add a pop of color to the otherwise subdued palette, drawing the viewer's eye and creating a sense of everyday life unfolding.

Further down the street, smaller figures appear in the distance, contributing to the sense of depth and perspective. These figures are painted with less detail, blending into the textured brushstrokes that fill the middle and background of the scene. The road itself appears worn, with a central line guiding the viewer’s gaze toward the vanishing point, where the street narrows and curves out of sight.
