Yesterday evening Shannon, Brogan and I went walking through the industrial and then neighborhood areas west of our hotel.
Most of the time it was cloudy, but for a few minutes golden sunlight came through, and I shot as many as I could before teh clouds came back. Wish I'd have taken more without the polarizing filter.

Ramsgate won by 3 wickets. - Minster batsman #5 Dom Vernon caught out by Vic Medus off David Amos for 16 runs. - Not out here.

I picked up Darek's sister, Missy and her boyfriend Chad at the airport this afternoon. They'll be staying with us for 11 days and 10 nights

The spectacular 20-metre-high sculpture, portraying the head of a girl with her eyes closed, is the artist's response to a brief developed through conversations with ex-miners and members of the wider local community. Dream is fabricated in pre-cast concrete, with a white, almost luminescent finish of white marble and concrete aggregate, in marked contrast to the black of the coal that still lies below.

This is how all the ducks were on the piece of glass that was the pond this morning, everything was misty and spooky (there were even still BATS out, don't get me wrong I like bats and loved seeing them) and this one was especially spooky with his lid closed.
I don't know why bird eyelids look so creepy

Our first assignment was to take 20 photos with our eyes shut, after studying our surroundings for 5 minutes. They look at all the photos for light source, camera angle, composition etc, and select only one. This is my one.
