Unwanted gifts
Most women don't want to be given soft toys that say chatty , and things that look they are meant for children, are...meant for children.
Portrait of a Maguari stork. Captured right in the moment when the stork blinked with his eye.
Interesting texture of the eyelid...
Portrait eines Maguaristorch. Geknipst als der Storch gezwinkert hat. Das Augenlid sieht auch ganz interessant aus.
The spectacular 20-metre-high sculpture, portraying the head of a girl with her eyes closed, is the artist's response to a brief developed through conversations with ex-miners and members of the wider local community. Dream is fabricated in pre-cast concrete, with a white, almost luminescent finish of white marble and concrete aggregate, in marked contrast to the black of the coal that still lies below.
Saw this girl out indulging in a little street photography also, from what I could tell taking quite audacious candids, without flinching. So she seemed fair game! Shame she had her eyes shut in the only one that turned out ok.

This is Lady. She is a rescue and super sweet. Lady's owner does my taxes. It's nice to go get your taxes done and be able to pet a fluffy, loving dog while discussing how much money the IRS took out of your pocket. Lady is a bit bored with my tax paperwork, but is sure I'll get something back.

After I got my first elk shot (see below in comments) in the Catalouchee Valley, my dad pulled the car closer so I could get some more shots. Instead of getting up and leaving, the bull elk continued munching on grass and closed his eyes.
I was hoping he would reopen his eyes. I took several shots but he was content to enjoy the grass with eyes closed, so we moved on. Dad got some good shots of him on the way out with his eyes open.

I was smoking a joint on Valencia Street the other evening when I met this lovely woman from out of town. It was her first time in SF and she was traveling with her cool boyfriend/hubby. They didn't hesitate when I offered them a puff. I took several shots and this is the only one that was in focus. Darn it!!
