The most excellent website Mobiography has recently published my Bondi in winter series. This is the second shot of those that were included but not already posted here. You can see the series here, and I'd love it if you checked it out.
Big thanks to Mobiography and Mark T. Simmons. Mark not only approached me to publish the series, but also helped me select the replacement shots and then so wonderfully ordered them. Legend. You should check out his work, it is amongst the very best mobile photography going 'round, along with some fantastic close up street candids.
This shot was taken just before I got home from a lunchtime walk and break from my computer. The woman here had been sitting in exactly the same spot as I left, and indeed I took a shot of her from off to the left of frame. A good spot of sunbathing.
This was an excellent day in Iceland. My wife wanted a down day so she sent me on my way. I decided to check out the southern part of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. Good choice. The weather was murky at first but once I crossed the Highway 54 pass it was much better. First stop of the day was Bjarnarfoss - a great waterfall that we missed on our first trip. Then on to the black church of Buthir - oddly the place was filled with drone operators. The snowy top of Snaefellsjokull started poking out - very nice. Great scenery everywhere - mountains and waterfalls on one side of the road, the ocean on the other. I checked out the basalt columns of Laugabrekka, the Londdrangar rock formations, the cool lighthouse at Malarrif then on to the black beach of Djupalonssandur. Killer waves here - literally - but very dramatic. From here the road turned north and then looped back to the east. Next stop was Hellissandur. Very cool town that claims to be the Street Art capitol of Iceland. Small town but great murals. The last stop was Svodufoss. I hiked to the top on our last trip here and have a special attachment to this waterfall. It looked as great as ever. I was close to my wife imposed curfew so I had to hurry back to the room and didn't have time to climb to the top. Next time. What an awesome day!
I took these photos in mid-September 2021.
Landscape with land, water and sky. A boat with a red sail and a sailor. Location Tanguar Haor, Shunamgonj, Bangladesh.

Two Iowa Pacific E-units, led by #515, are heading northbound on the C&M, and passing through Rondout, IL. This is a special passenger excursion that will take them up the WSOR Lake subdivision; he's going to shift to the close track seconds after this picture was taken. They'll be parked at Edgerton, WI for the night.
An Indian Roller ( Coracias benghalensis ) aka the Blue Jay, basking under an azure sky. After almost a week of overcast & 'drizzly' weather, the sun finally prevailed.
Poor Wookie has been sick since Friday night. To put it plainly, he's had two very "explosive" days, and we've had very little sleep. :-(
We took him to the vet yesterday just to make sure it wasn't related to that awful, ongoing pet food recall (it wasn't). We think this morning, he turned the corner toward getting better. But, he still looks so dang sad!

This was on the 1st Day of the 4 day Carnaval floats. Panjim or Panaji hosts the carnaval parade on the 1st day. It has the broadest thoroughfare and has the largest number of people seeing the parade.
Part of a float flaunting foreign poseurs of carnaval, here is one lady with a smoking long leg and a guitar posing a few minutes just before the parade starts.
This has been shot with a Tokina wide angle lens at 22mm, not the best candidate for a portrait shoot, as it lacks sharpness etc but then I had no choice as the regular lens was away with Nikon in Delhi for some much needed cleaning up of 3 years of fungal growth.

A fine example of this seemingly delicate bird.
This wader is a local resident in Southern Africa. It builds its nest in estuaries, marshes, pans and flooded ground which it defends in a very vocal manner.

The Colossus of Constantine was a colossal acrolithic statue of the late Roman emperor Constantine the Great (c. 280–337) that once occupied the west apse of the Basilica of Maxentius near the Forum Romanum in Rome. Portions of the Colossus now reside in the Courtyard of the Palazzo dei Conservatori of the Musei Capitolini, on the Capitoline Hill, above the west end of the Forum. The great head, arms and legs of the Colossus were carved from white marble, while the rest of the body consisted of a brick core and wooden framework, possibly covered with gilded bronze. Judging by the size of the remaining pieces, the seated, enthroned figure would have been about 12 m high. The head is about 2 ½ m high and each foot is over 2 m long.
