Just a record of a very unexpected, and exciting, sighting of bottlenose dolphins at Montrose beach, 15 May 2018 (some really close in, just in the waves breaking onto the beach). It also happened to be the first day I'd taken my long lens to the beach, because I was hoping to photograph the terns.
It was really difficult to know where they were going to pop up next, never mind find them in the camera before they'd disappeared again, so I was pleased enough just to get them in the frame, and it was a bonus that one was in focus! I sent these images to the Sea Watch Foundation, who were kind enough to reply immediately and confirm the ID of bottlenose dolphins.

Ex Dutch railways executive Diesel motorcar DE20. It was given the nickname "The Camel" due to the two driver cabins. Completely restored in original livery it passes a road crossing near Waddinxveen, The netherlands, 26 November 2008.

Vandaag reed De Ex NS 466 van Stichting De Karel een extra rit ter ere van de tien jarige samenwerking van RTB-Cargo en Hutchison Ports. De rit ging op eigen kracht van Amerfoort naar Rotterdam Ysselnmonde. Omdat "De Karel" niet onder 25kV inzetbaar is, werd het treinstel hier aan de RTB-Cargo locomotief 193 945 gekoppeld en zo zou de rit voortgezet worden naar de Maasvlakte.

Today, the Ex NS 466 of the De Karel Foundation made an extra trip in honor of the ten-year collaboration between RTB-Cargo and Hutchison Ports. The ride went under its own power from Amerfoort to Rotterdam Ysselnmonde. Because "De Karel" cannot be used under 25kV, the trainset was coupled here to the RTB-Cargo locomotive 193 945 and so the journey would continue to the Maasvlakte.

Ex-Metroline VP520 (LK04CSU) and Ex-London United TLA17 (SN53KHR) standing together at Crawley Station.
I have been unsure between the two "skyies" - actually, today the sky was so blue and the light was so beautiful, so, I go for this one, even if I have to say that the grey background tempted me so much ... :-)
What I loved of this very simple composition was the perfect game of parallel diagonal lines created by the shadow on the yellow wall and the roof .

Parked in a garage forecourt is Ex London Transport RTL1281. Purchased from LT in 12'67 by Empress Cleaning Services,Barkingside - it was last recorded as being de-roofed in an accident and at Sth Weald Garage, Brentwood. (Details from 'Ians bus Stop' ). Photograsphed 30th June 1968.
Conrail U25B 2664 is resting at Conrail's Diesel Shop at Selkirk N.Y. Two workers are taking a break while another attends to an issue near the rear pilot.14 year old 2664 was built for the New Haven in 10-1964 as their 2504.Howard Kent Jr.photo.
