Seen stored adjacent to the Epping Ongar Railway running line just past Ongar Station is the pretty odd sight of a Suomen Valtion Rautatiet (Finnish State Railways) 5' gauge Lokomo Oy Hr1 Class locomotive number 1008 awaiting restoration.

I love how the long exposure (15 seconds) brings out so much detail giving the forest a surreal almost drawing like quality.

This unknown old family photo was taken in Epping Forest, all I know about the family is that dad was a policeman in the 1920's. Epping Forest is an area of ancient woodland in south-east England, straddling the border between north-east Greater London and Essex. It is a former royal forest, and is managed by the City of London Corporation.

Epping, Epping, Debden, Loughton....sometimes the wait for a 'Hainault' train home from London seemed never ending! Here I was at Epping en route to the North Weald event.

Type 18A Mk VI model Wickham Trolley seen at Ongar Railway Station on the Epping Ongar Railway. This example dates from 1975 and was delivered to British Rail's Sevenoaks depot as number 68068 (DB966033 & DX 68086 are also listed numbers for this vehicle).
