Habitat:Klatrer i trær, busker, hekker og gjerder. Vanlig i hele Andalusia
Som navnet klatremaure tiliser er dette en plante man ofte ser klatre I trær og langs hekker og gjerder I mere urbane strøk. Hele syv meter kan den strekke seg!. Tar man på planten skjønner man at den har de rette forutsetningene for å klatre og feste seg til andre vekster. Planten har små mothaker på blader og stengel som sitter godt. Stengelen er firkantet. Blomstene som bare er 5-6 mm i diameter sitter i store klaser. De har fem gulgrønne eller nesten hvite spisse kronblader.
Bladene som er mørkegrønne og skinnende på oversiden sitter i stjerneformete kranser oppetter stengelen. De er vanligvis fem blader I hver krans men tallet kan variere fra 4 til 8. Et annet kjennetegn ved klatremaure er frukten som ser ut som et sort skinnende bær. Fin duft.
