This railway station was constructed in 1927 to replace an earlier station in Zürich's Enge neighborhood between the Sihl River and the Zürichsee. Architects Werner and Otto Pfister designed a long, curving arcaded facade of dark Ticino granite, and the resulting open space is named the "Tessinerplatz" after that material.
The station contains a number of retail shops and restaurants, including a "Brezelkönig" ("Pretzel King") where we bought an inexpensive yet unimpressive dinner snack.
