#3.ª espécie do ano, 1.ª que nunca tinha visto!
E vão 30!
Bem sei que a foto é muito fraca, mas é o meu primeiro registo de libellula depressa na Beira Baixa elevando para 30 as espécies que já encontrei nesta zona de Portugal. Mas há mais que, como esta, sei que andam por aí! Só que ainda não encontrei...
Espalhada por quase toda a Europa mas ausente no sul de Espanha, esta libelula distingue-se pela grande largura do abdómen, que é ainda mais pronunciada nas fémeas. Muito territoriais, os machos defendem o seu território com grande agressividade. Gosta de águas paradas. Mede entre 3,9 e 4,8 cm de comprimento.

Spread over almost all of Europe but absent in southern Spain, this libelula is distinguished by the great width of the abdomen, which is even more pronounced in females. Very territorial, the male defends its territory aggressively. They prefer standing waters. It measures between 3.9 and 4.8 cm in length.
