I could have straightened this, but I liked the angle.
Wide angle shot of Driving Park Bridge Lower Falls in Rochester, NY.
At 220 feet high, the bridge was built in 1988, is 707.7 feet long, carrying two-lane highway and pedestrian walkway over 4 steel spans and cast-in-place concrete decking.
Lower Falls is the final waterfall on the mighty Genesee River. This cascade waterfall is 110 feet high with a 276 foot wide crest.

This guy typifies the boredom of the NYC MTA bus driver..........
We drove around, and spotted this cute dog. It took us a moment to park, but we wanted to check on him.
Day 196 - Driving around
Finally, in the evening the sun was shining. Time for the first test drive :) That has been so much fun! Tomorrow the sun will shine again, Oliver is planning a trip. I'm curious where we go.

Germany at last! Fascinating to see how everything changed as we drove past the city..industry, factories..and the most interesting of all..... the long interplay of black poles, wires, arches and structures that made up the railway complex at its centre. I only had time to whizz a few lines in as a memory but would have LOVED to have drawn this part properly
Driving naked with a loose cat in the car while taking photos, what could possibly go wrong? I was wearing sandals.
Well here is a picture of me driving my car barefoot since it got too warm inside of my car, my feet got too warm in Hanes no show white socks, and my Nike Cortez sneakers.
When snow started to come down on the 9th there were already cars and trucks on the side of the road. Some do not seem to know (or want) to slow down when driving. This tow truck blocked traffic in three lanes trying to get a car out of the shoulder. Impatient drivers in the oncoming traffic almost spun out when they tried to turn lanes following going to the one lane.
A very fun but tiring week, saw myself and Ryan taking YJ19 BAO to Italy for the week. Strangely found it much easier than UK driving!
I had anticipated this Brown Pelican's takeoff, and when I checked the shot I was amazed to see the big hole in the water, even the webbed foot that helped create it. These beautiful birds lead a rough life, even more so recently. In the past I've volunteered in their rescue, once driving a truckload some 200 miles to a wildlife care center. I lost 6 enroute, delivering 18 to the care they required. I always felt I failed, losing so many, due to the over 100 degree heat and the birds standing atop any others that could not keep their heads up. There were so many sick birds then (from a botulism outbreak), causing us to be short-handed vlunteers. So I had no one to sit with them to prevent trampling while I drove.
The brown pelican at one point faced extinction. In 2009, the brown pelican was removed from the Federal List of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife due to recovery... based on a review of the best available scientific and commercial data; but the brown pelican remains protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.
