Upper brighter area: Vehicles' lamps, traffic lights, and other illuminations.
Bottom darker area: All those reflected on the wet road surface.
Another of many images I’ve taken from the passenger seat on a drive to one of my neurofeedback appointments. I never know how these images will turn out as we’re driving down one of the highways or the interstate we travel. This process of making photos of my surroundings really is helpful and calming for me.

June was still not as hot a month as July, it was enjoyable to drive around and take a photo here and there.

While driving home from a spur of the moment chase of the Royal Canadian Pacific inspection train across three states, the cloud line was finally clearing to the west. Mike Biehn asked if we were near any tracks because there was about to be some killer light. Luck would be on our side as we approached Princeton, Illinois where the BNSF Mendota Sub rolls through town. Now we just needed a train. The Mendota isn't as busy as it used to be so odds were pretty slim that we would get lucky. A horn to the west began blowing for downtown and a few minutes later an eastbound freight came into view. Sweet evening golden glint shines on a pair of GE's leading a Chicago bound freight train east. The train cleared and 10 minutes later a beautiful sunset capped off an awesome trip with a good friend.
Kahinahina Road, a 40-mile 4wd trail which encircles Mauna Kea on the Big Island of Hawaii, has some fairly amazing scenery. Here we're passing through a barren volcanic wasteland at the 3,000m/10,000 ft level. Above the road was the wreckage of a plane crash. I wasn't able to find much information on it, so if someone has info about what sort of plane crashed or when, I would be interested in hearing more.
