Qualifying for the Mobil 1 Sportscar Grand Prix, Mosport. It was great to finally see the radical and highly technical DeltaWing in person and on the race course. This beautiful looking car unfortunately only lasted 16 laps in the race. Hope to see it back next year.

Taxi drivers with keys in hand, await for the next haul. They are sitting near a central location near the city market and wear the driver attire, white short sleeve shirt and dark pants and black shoes. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, S.E Asia
The instructor was probably quite pleased at the blocked exit. It gave the driver the opportunity to demonstrate correct assessment of the road, and put that plan into action.
There is a lot of responsibility in the hands of the driver. Its not a task to be undertaken lightly.

My last day in Ljubljana. Plan was to go on the 15th all the way to Brno, in Czech Republic. But for some lazy reason, I didn't call my carpool ride until it was to late and this one was full by then. Plan B was then to hitchhike all the way in one day. I didn't wake up so early and had some trouble with the keys. All my stuff was had already been packed and brought by airmail to Lisbon, I just had some small backpack for the final week. This one I brought in my trip.
.
I attempted to hitchhike first to Maribor, then towars Vienna and finally Brno.
.
But it didn't start well. After 1h, nobody stoped for me for Maribor. I gave up, called my friend and went on the first available bus.
.
In Maribor I got a ride to the petrol station already in the highway heading to Austria and then some retired croatian couple drove me all the way to Vienna. They're some of the nicest people I've met, really happy couple. Their son had a really good croatian restaurant in Vienna, where I had dinner. They even called him on the way to check the buses from Vienna to Brno that evening. There was one at around 10pm.
.
they gave the station address and I went there. Little do they knew this ticket had to be bought online. I realized this fact after arriving in a bus station somewhere in a shady dark corner of a shopping mall, with no apparent ticket office. There I've met a big group of australians who told me this. Apparently, the bus was already full. I become friends with them and entered the bus, taking a seat and pretending to fall asleep. Of course, someone would notice. The moment finally came. A guy came with the ticket supervisor, looking for the place (he couldn't find because all of them was full). They then approached me and asked me for my ticket, which, of course, I didn't have. I said I thought I could buy in the bus. This one, was already moving and leaving the station. The supervisor shouts out loud to stop and kicks me out badly. I felt a bit embarassed, but I had to try. Lesson leaned.
.
My plan was going bad again. I stoped to assess my situation. I could try to go to the northen part of Vienna, where the hitchhiking spot was and try to do it, although one of the hitchhiking rules is never to do it at night.
.
I tried to stop some cars and after a shady guy that I could'nt understand offered me a ride that I refused, I decided to spend the night by the road, near a tree and some bushes. It was the first time I slept on the street. It was cool. Fortunately an hot summer night.
.
Next day early in the morning I started pimpin' again. My main concern was that I had a visit to the legendary Tugendhat House, in Brno, at 11 in the morning, something I had booked 1 month in advance and just couldn't miss.
.
First ride was a taxi. A turkish fella dropped me by the highway junction. Then my first truck ever. An austrian driver that couldn't speak a shit of english. Somehow we got along. He offered me some loquats as we tried to communicate with signs.
.
He dropped me some kilometres further in the highway. Then a car with a lady, that dropped me already in the national road, near the border with Czech. Perfect hitchhiking spot, in a long straight segment of the road, with plenty of space to stop and for me to be seen. Not long after, another truck stopped.
.
This time the guy spoke well english (for what I suppose are truck driver standards) and we had a pleasent ride. He dropped me in the suburbs of Brno right on the bus stop of the bus to the city center. Imagine a truck stopping right in front of the bus stop, people watching and all, and some guy just jumps out of the door, says goodbye, packs his stuff and joins them in the stop, as nothing had happened.
.
I then caught he bus and arrived at the main staion in the city centre. It was almost 11! I asked some infos on how to go to Tugendhat. I misunderstood the numbers and lost the tram, had to wait another 5 minutes. This could be fatal. Fortunately it was still on time. The tram left on the main street uphill and Tugendhat was on the top of another side street. It was 3 minutes to11. I ran with my bag, everything, tired of bad sleeping night and sweating and smelling like shit. But I didn't care. I just ha to get to the place. And I arrived right on time. Just dropped my bag and started this architectural journey as if the last two days had been completely normal.
.
What a day.

This location opened in fall 2016; it was originally a United Virginia Bank, which opened in June 1975. It became a Crestar Bank in spring 1987, Blanton Auto Sales & Service in March 1993, Point Auto Sales in May 1995 and Dad's Auto Sales on January 2nd, 1996.
This dangerous driver swung across the road, nearly striking and injuring the scooter driver who can be seen reprimanding the jerk. Ignoring the scooter driver's screaming horn, the driver made no allowance or evasive action, but continued on with his plan to park in the spot that he had no business trying to use in the first place.
Still in the middle of the road, the reckless driver proceeded to back up, so when his front end swung out to the right, he obstructed both lanes of traffic.
When the freak exited his vehicle, I loudly congratulated him for some of the worst driving I'd seen in a long time. His tall and thin passenger's thick, large, round, and white framed eye glasses looked like Elton John rejects.
He and his bizarre looking passenger then, oddly, hid in a doorway down the street, peeking out at me. Eventually they emerged from their hiding spot and the driver worked his way up the block toward me.
The driver attempted to intimidate me with bullying and insulting talk. As he rudely insulted me he slowly moved closer and closer, putting items he was holding into his pockets as though he was going to fight me. It seemed that he was used to people jumping to his commands, and since I wouldn't he grew frustrated, started to swear at me, and then yelled at his strange looking and behaving passenger. His passenger's reaction of fear to the driver's yell spoke volumes.
The only thing I feared from this bully was his noticable flakes of dandruff that made his shoulders look like mountain tops after a light dusting of snow.
After yelling at me they went back to their car and drove away.
...so, why did he park there in the first place? Hmmm?
Now, who does that, other than someone who fears attention and possible police involvement?
This guy had something to hide, and his passenger definitely had the fear. What was up with these two? Are they involved in some kind of abusive and dysfunctional relationship?
The drivers plate has been a fiddle, its super fragile and needs holes for the vision blocks. Here you can see its made up of two laminations of 0.5 card. The card behind is narrower to accommodate the upper side armour. The little mouth under the eyes is for the dash board. its a rough hole at the moment as I am guessing its location.
Another official WMPTE photograph, this one dating from 1969, showing the driver’s cab of Daimler Fleetline 3913 (SOE913H). This is how the cabs appeared on these early WMPTE Fleetlines when they were new in 1969-1970.
Out of interest, the odd looking device mounted onto the window ledge, is the electo-mechanical passenger counter, which displayed to the driver, the number of passengers in the upper saloon. There was also a light display on the wall of the staircase, displaying information to passengers, as to whether or not there were seats available upstairs
The trigger mechanism for this device was mounted under two of the steps on the vehicle’s staircase. When foot pressure was applied to the steps, the counter's display would alter. The device was able to detect people going upstairs, or downstairs, by counting step-1, step-2 for a passenger going upstairs, and step-2, step-1 for a passenger descending the stairs. The problem was that once school children discovered this, they would deliberately stamp on the steps several times, causing the displays to give false readings. These primitive electrical devices were soon abandoned, however, most of the buses carried the disconnected staircase mounted light displays units until they were withdrawn from service more than a decade later.
These buses were also full-height vehicles, being 14' 6" high, this is painted on to the hub of the steering wheel. Later 'standard Fleetlines' were only 14' 2" high.
More useless information for you to digest. ;-)
