As anyone who has driven past Plymouth will know, the city's emblem is Smeaton's Tower, the former Eddystone lighthouse which was taken down after the rock it was standing on cracked. The lighthouse, which was designed by John Smeaton in the 18th century, was re-erected on Plymouth Hoe. This overlooks Plymouth's seafront, which is practice is a series of terraces with cafes and an Art Deco swimming pool on the side of Plymouth Sound. There is a very tiny beach which is revealed at low tide. This was taken from Mount Edgcumbe Country Park on the Cornish side of Plymouth Sound. In the far distance can be seen the western edge of Dartmoor.

Reconstructions of Bronze Age houses built just off lakeshores in the Pfahlbauten Museum in Unteruhldingen.
This house on the Hill is very close to my home. I have driven past it a million times but and never noticed its photographic possibilities.
I have driven the A4440 to Malvern passing under the new footbridge at St. Peters in Worcester, UK several times last year and each time I passed it was a little more complete but still not open to the public.
So, I was quite surprised last week when driving past again that it was no full open and accessible. So, wanting a quick run out with the car I thought Id take my camera and check out the view from the bridge.
Note to self, and I need to be more mindful of cars changing lanes!
I took this about midway up the lake on a ratther cloudy and chilly October day .The Königssee is a lake located in the extreme southeast of the German State of Bavaria (Bayern), near the German-Austrian Border. Lying near the Bavarian town of Berchtesgaden in the municipality of Schönau am Königsee, just south of the Austrian city Salzburg in the German Alps, the Königssee is the third deepest lake in Germany. The lake was formed by glaciers during the last ice age. It is 7.7 kilometers long and about 1.7 kilometers across at its widest point. Except at its outlet, the Königsseer Ache at the village of Königssee, the lake is surrounded by steeply rising flanks of alpine mountains (2.000 m), including the fabled Watzmann.
Riding the boat is a fabulous experience and so easy for people of all ages. If you go early you can have time for a picnic and hiking in serveral spots during the winter fall season the boat alas with only go half way up but its still one glorious journey.
The literal translation appears to be King's Lake, but this is not correct. While König does indeed mean king, the name of the lake comes from the first name Kuno, which appears in several historical sources, and it was formerly called Kunigsee.[1]
The lake is noted for its clear water and is advertised as the cleanest lake in Germany. For this reason, only electric driven boats, rowboats and pedal boats have been permitted on the lake since 1909. The lake and surrounding parklands are very popular with tourists and hikers.
In addition, the lake's position surrounded by mountains creates an echo, which is known for its clarity. On boat tours, it has become traditional to stop and play the trumpet to display the echo. Its a moving experience that with possibly move you to tears.

Since the new sandman season was out , I was driven by the beauty of the Orpheus story with his wife , a short tragic love story. It inspired me to bring you Eurydice, orpheu's wife , bitten by a snake on her wedding day.

I ventured out for an appointment this morning, normally I would have driven but the place where the appointment was taking place charges for parking so I figured I would cut through the woods and enjoy a sunny autumn day.
Of course I brought my camera along and snapped a few shots, two birds, one stone. Don't mind if I do!
Hope everyone has had a good day.

Stephan Frontenac sitting at his table, he sees Beth come up to his dock in a small motor boat driven by someone else. He sees her wave the boat away and start walking towards his home. He watches her dancers grace, those composed precise and trained movements that made him fall in love with her. He smiles and nods in her direction, waiting for her to come closer before he speaks.
beth Latynina steps carefully onto the dock as dismissing the driver would just take an moment to look around. Slight wrinkle of nose to the smell of the swamp reminding her of years past tredging around in the sewers with Stephan. Still looking as young and beautiful as ever. Would walk over to where she sees her husbamd sitting. Lips drawn into an smile as speaks," so this is where you have been hiding lately?.."
Stephan Frontenac stands up and walks over to beth, taking her hands in his and saying “I thought it was time for me to leave the beaches for a back bayou somewhere.” He looks around finding the smell of decay in the swamp rather pleasant and says with a content smile “With Libby in Midian, this seemed like a logical choice.”
beth Latynina: slender hands curl within your own as just laughs," yes and am surprised you did not do it long ago.." stepping in closer to you bringing with her the coying scent of perfume you love so much. Body shifts as lips part pressing to your in an lingering kiss," Whispering then," well i thought it wise to come and check up on you both..."
[stephan Frontenac looks around and notices his complet lack of a sofa. He shrugs a little to himself and says "I'm happy to see you love, you always make my whole body tingle in happiness when I see you, especially when it's been too long."
[ beth Latynina shifts curling along your side one hand resting to your chest." so tell me what our daughter has been up too? She has yet to return my phone calls.."
[ Stephan Frontenac had been debating which bad news to tell Beth first, about Libby or Ashagi, but thankfully she directed the conversation. He frowns a little at her question and just blurts it out "It's been hard on her, she's had to grow up fast. She was raped a few weeks ago and she's made enemies with the Noble family somehow. I'm not unconvinced the two are unrelated. Cute little Phoebe Noble, Cait's daughter if you remember her, turned into more of a monster then her father."
beth latynina blinks as had been so afraid of that," I was so hoping she would not have to go though that. Physically she is alright? There was no permanate damage?.." frowning when you speak of Cait's daughter." is such an shame. As emember she was always so sweet and shy everytime I met her." sighs," well Libby is smart and strong. You have someone watching her?"
Team Bugatti at the 1922 French Grand Prix in Strasbourg: #5 Ernest Friedrich, #12 Pierre de Vizcaya, #18 Jacques Mones-Maury (The Marqués de Casa Maury) and #22 Pierre De Vizcaya.
My restoration and colorization of an image in the Gallica Digital Library.
One of the cars was sold by Christies in 2001:
"Following the resounding success of his 1500cc cars which secured the first four places in the most important voiturette race of the 1921 season at Brescia, Ettore Bugatti decided that the time had come for him to consider competing in the Grands Prix, then as now the pinnacle of European motor racing. Accordingly he set about the design of an entirely new model which was destined to become his first eight cylinder design to enter production and the forerunner of the wide range of racing and sports Bugattis, most notably the Type 35 Grand Prix model and the Grand Sport Type 43, which were introduced over the following decade.
The Type 29 Bugatti engine was designed initially in 1500cc form, but its capacity was soon increased to two litres to match the new Grand Prix regulations which were to come into force at the start of the 1922 season. A batch of five chassis frames was prepared which strictly were designated Type 22 on account of their 2.4 meter wheelbases, but they featured new cross-members and were in effect shortened versions of the subsequent 2.85 meter wheelbase standard Type 30 production frames.
These first chassis were fitted with newly designed front and rear axles and a new steering box, but retained initially the same gearbox as was used on the 1500cc four cylinder models. The front axle was equipped with hydraulic front brakes, a novelty at the time, while the rear axle retained cable-operated brakes, the drums of which were of much larger diameter, and the radiator was an enlarged version of that of the concurrent 16 valve model.
As with most of the chassis features, the engine too was of an entirely new design, a straight eight with its crankshaft running in three large ball-races and having bronze-bearings in the connecting rods, all mounted, for the one and only time in a Bugatti engine, in a one-piece barrel crankcase. The twin four cylinder blocks featured fixed heads with two spark plugs and three vertical valves per cylinder, two small inlets and one large exhaust. The valves were actuated via finger-type rockers from a single overhead camshaft contained within a rectangular aluminum cambox mounted on top of the engine and driven by shafts and bevel gears from the nose of the crankshaft." --
"The first four chassis produced were allocated the numbers 4001 - 4004 inclusive, the first of a new series of chassis numbers intended to distinguish these new eight cylinder models from their contemporary four cylinder brethren. These four cars were entered as a factory team for the 1922 French Grand Prix which was to be held on 16th July around a triangular road circuit near Strasbourg, conveniently adjacent to Bugatti's Molsheim factory.
Initially the cars were equipped with bolster-tank racing bodies similar to those of the racing Brescias, but shortly before the race they were replaced with far more streamlined coachwork, being of circular cross-section throughout from the cowled radiator to the pointed tail through the center of which the exhaust was discharged. Little wonder that these bodies were immediately likened to cigars!
In the race itself the Bugattis faced strong opposition, in particular from the Fiat and Sunbeam teams, while Count Louis Zborowski was driving one of the 1500cc Aston Martin twin-cam cars which he had personally financed. The race was held over a distance of 500 miles which proved too much for most of the 18-car field, only four running at the fall of the flag, three of which were Bugattis. The race was easily won by the sole surviving Fiat, another of which had crashed two laps from the finish but had still covered more distance than the third Bugatti. Thus, although denied a victory in their debut Grand Prix, the Bugattis had accounted well for themselves, particularly in respect of their reliability."
I have driven past this farmers field oooo, probably 100 times over the years and never noticed this lone tree in it until recently it was photographed by another tog and posted on IG. As it is literally a 15 minute drive from my house it would have been rude not to pop over and check it out. Well, I almost creamed my pants when I saw it as these kind of views really do float my boat!
It almost feels like I am in a strange, desolate place with this image when in fact I am surrounded by lush fields full of late summer crops!
As always I hate the contrails in the sky, bloody jets, killing our world, zooming round up there, who do they fink they are, grumble mumble etc.
On a side note I am now the owner of my own aerial vehicle, a certain little DJI Mavic Mini 2 one to be precise. I eagerly anticipate getting it up into our local skies shortly and parking it in a treetop soon after! I have taken the DJI care package out so hopefully i can get two replacements before I realise I cant fly and give up lol.
Have a fantastic weekend all.

Guin tests her shoulder, then hoists herself up on the bar, reaching over for the other glass and lifting it toward him. "You do know what I'm involved in, don't you?" she asks quietly. "The work I do?"
Charles leaned forwards to join the conspiritorial whispering, his eyes looking left to right and then he leaned closer and said in a low voice. "Choir practice?"
Guin just blinks at him for a moment, then starts to laugh. "Yup, that's right. Choir practice." She lifts her glass even higher, in a mock toast. "That's all I do... sing hymns."
Charles tilted his head to her. "Not all you do," he said with a wink and raised his glass joining in the toast and knocking the glass back. "An ya sing pretty.....people need thet..ain no small thang."

Just part of a massive mural at a road junction in Leicester. I couldn’t help wondering if drivers get distracted as they approach, I certainly would be…
I'd driven from the town of Forks down to Rialto Beach to shoot some dawn seascapes but was stymied by the fog, so I began to look into the forest instead.
This dead tree just off the beach stood out clearly amongst the fog ridden trees and was just asking me to photograph it, so I did!
I made purchase of ZWO AM5, a compact and light-weighted strain wave gear driven mount and tripod recently and tried them at home.
It was a precise performer, when we operate it with autoguiding.
ZWO AM5 may be a game changer among mounts for telescopes. It works both as an altazimuth mount and an equatorial mount.
ZWO AM5 Tutorial: A quick guide on how to use the mount and tripod: www.youtube.com/watch?v=f81K2Iy7_1c
Be careful that it is not Harmonic Drive mount but strain wave gear driven mount. Harmonic Drive is patent protected special system, which has been developed for decades on reliability and others.
PHD2 Autoguiding intervened more frequently compared to autoguiding with Vixen AXD equatorial mount, Takahashi EM-200FG-Temma 2Z-BL, or Takahashi EM-200 Temma 2 jr equatorial mount, but the correction ended usually within one action. Less backlash and super more torque must have contributed significantly. The result was more precise autoguiding or smaller guiding error RMS number, around 0.6" in total at the night vs usually 1.5" or more with other equatorial mounts. I will enjoy more experience with the compact and light-weighed mount.
I am afraid of the life, reliability, and effect of lacking in balance of weight including shift of polar alignment due to elasticity in the genuine tripod. The genuine carbon fiber reinforced plastic tripod looks too small and light-weighted. The GENUINE stone bag must be helpful.
The Heavy Duty Tripod with short pillar and fat legs for Losmandy G11 may be helpful for the purpose. I have the stout and heavy one in my stock room.
