While the fog crept up from the Risstal valley in front of the Tölzer Hütte, a violent thunderstorm af 😆 erupted south over the main Karwendel ridge.... luckily I was sheltered under the roof...

Arrived to Alpe di Siusi mid-afternoon and stayed there waiting for the sunset.
"Classic" sunset shots of the Alpi di Siusi valley were really nice (more about that in the near future...) but at some moment I turned and found out this amazing show running on my back....

Life is often about the fleeting moments of beauty that brings long-lasting memory, gratitude, and joy. This was such a moment.
When we first arrived at this location, it was perfectly calm. We could see some ominous clouds coming towards us. Soon the sky darkened, temperature cooled, and a bolt of lightning appeared out of nowhere! A band of fog began to move through the canyon and brought even more drama to the scene. Suddenly, it was like someone flipped a switch: the winds started howling and a heavy mix of sleet and snow began falling. Moments later, the entire canyon disappeared into a thick blanket of whiteness.
The first light of dawn breaks through the heavy storm clouds, illuminating the village of Agios Panteleimon on the shores of Lake Vegoritida. A truly dramatic and powerful sunrise

A short stop during a routine Saturday run.
The trail in the frame is the one I had just descended from before heading toward Eklizi-Burun for the next climb.
Still plenty of work ahead, plenty of kilometers left to run, and exactly the kind of routine I never get tired of.
A Godray roams and alights on Borgarnes. These shafts of light roamed the land and sea while I was in Iceland, illuminating the land and water under it before ranging on as though trying to find something or someone, they were every where ... fantastic! www.glensumnerphotography.com
