every year we think it may be the last year we dress our dogs up for Halloween. This year they went as rockstars and got lots of treats as a reward

As a nearly lifelong vegetarian, you can perhaps imagine my delight when I saw soy dogs (vegetarian hot dogs made from soybeans) on sale on a NYC pushcart!!!
I'm posting this opposite a photo of Nathan's in Coney Island as a measure of equal time for the vegetarians among us... I explained to the rather astonished vendor after making the photo how thrilled I was that he'd made the step "down" the food chain!
My father invented the term "meat analogues" to describe this kind of veggie food years ago. Long live "meat analogues"--as well as the animals we don't kill by being vegetarians!
