The Winery Dogs in concerto al Graspop Metal Meeting 2023 di Dessel foto di Andrea Ripamonti per www.rockon.it
Additional update: I have received a written (email) apology from one of the editors of the KARK (news station) website. Apparently they had my image in a bank of photos they use for stories. (and who knows how many other images not in the public domain). They took down the picture. The story about the dogs in the forest has gone national (do a Google news search on dogs national forest if you want to follow this).
Update: 6/16/88
To the editors of ArkansasMatters re: a terrible story about the mayor of a local town having dogs from a local shelter turned loose in a National Forest and disbanding local shelter facilities. Not only is the story bad enough - the web site editors STOLE MY IMAGE without permission to use on what they are calling their top story.
This is a followup to the original story.
Here is what I wrote to the news website.
Concern: I would like to inform you that you are using a stolen image on your top story(6-16-08) about the dogs turned loose in the National Forest. Not only is this a terrible situation for the dogs, and speaks badly for the autorities in your region, you yourselves are setting a terrible example by using copyrighted material on your website. The dogs in the image are my dogs - from my rescue. I took the photographs and made the collage myself - I hope you will publish my comment with an apology. I also want people to know that the dogs in the image have either been adopted into safe homes, or still reside at Dogs Hope where they will have a safe and healthy home for life.
Original description: Here are some of my dogs. I was going to put Christmas hats on them, but I think I will leave it the way it is. Top row: Margit, Emmie, Belle, Dani. Middle row: Bess, Charlie, Missy. Next to bottom: Jimmy/Barnaby (aka Bebe or Baby), Bess (how did she get in here twice?), Dewey. Bottom: Rosie, Robin.
The success of the first Japanese Antartic Expedition in 1956 was due in no small edges to the two sledge dogs known as Taro and Jiro. Unfortunately, adverse weather conditions and the shifting of the pack ice cut the members of the second expedition off from their "Syowa Station" and forced them to abandon all their sledge dogs there. However, Taro and Jiro survived the cruel winter of the Antartic and when contact was renewed with the station they were both found safe and sound. Such miraculous survival provides us with an inspired example of courage and steadfastness. Taking the opportunity afforded by the permanet mooring in the Port of Nagoya of the Antartic Observation Ship "FUJI" this statue has been erected to commemorate forever the great services of Taro and Jiro.
Eena jumped up on the handle and opened the door herself. Brutus opens the door by pulling the handle down with his mouth.
Hewo 52 weeks friends. Spiggs here... I apologize for my mommy not uploading a photo until this afternoon... but she has been very busy trying to secure a new home for us starting March 1st. She is also very sad today... I'm not sure why, but her eyes were quite swollen this morning, I gave her a big hug just in case she needed it...my mom Baccha was keeping her company in the house- Shes a much better snuggler than me! This photo was from yesterday after I did bite work getting ready for my Schutzhund, IPO 2 competition. I am resting by the car with my "passifier", also known as a sleeve. I love this thing alot. alot. alot. I also like fighting with our decoy- Michael. We have been learning alot these past months and my mommy seems to be pleased... which makes me feel like a team! YAH! So my face here... while I dont look excited, I am concentrating really hard on keeping my full bite on my Wubba.... because I know my momma is about to "OUT" me and put me back in my crate. I must enjoy while I can! See you next week!
"Momma" here: I apologize folks for being so absent this week, as mentioned before, I just signed a lease on a 5.5 acre horse farm and little house which I have been coordinating all week and has taken a lot of time in-between jobs and training. That said, I will be moving out as of March 1st... and I had to break the news to my 4.5 year boyfriend last night... needless to say. It has been a hard day. <-- hence my crossroads photo earlier I will catch up on comments tonight and this week, promise.
Technically... this photo is not all that great. But as Spiggs mentioned above.. his facial expression is just as he said. He's very serious when we get back to the car because he knows I will let him be for a min, then I have to out him and put him away = not his favorite. This photo does show his full bite on the sleeve that he is very good at and you can sorta see him grinning beneath the seriousness. I have great plans for this Valentines week... hint: tramp and spaghetti

Jimmy Dean was too interested in the chicken poop fertilizer
Frank was a little unsure of the new guys - he did not like their fast approach
All went well - new friends.
A rule of photography is "dont inundate your viewers with never ending shots of your pets. You may find them cute, but others may not " ...piffle ! This dog is my best friend; Scrappy-doo may be 13 but is so full of life and fun; so very handsome loves me unconditionally and vis versa, even when he stinks, which these days, is mostly all the time :0) Cant be without him. Its a good job he cant speak, he knows all my secrets. The black terrier I think is a Skye terrier, lovely dog with flowing locks, who joined us briefly today. The light today was awful and particularly tricky, so Canines its was xxx
