Daily Dog Challenge - 1078. 1014 Warning
I give you fair warning, when Rocky is tired, dont mess with him, he can turn into a demon pup! He spent a long day riding in the car today, we had to go into Portland from the coast and it takes 3 hrs just to get there so he was not a happy camper today.

Diego Rivera painted 11 panels on the middle floor, such as the “Tianguis of Tlatelolco” (tianguis means “market”), and the “Arrival of Hernán Cortés in Veracruz”. These are part of a series depicting the pre-Hispanic era. Peoples such as the Tarascos of Michoacán, the Zapotecs and Mixtecs of Oaxaca and the Huastecs of Hidalgo, San Luis Potosí and Veracruz. However, this series was not finished.

Surely not my kind of painting - I did this on behalf of uncle who needed a present for a friend.
I can´t say if it Ok - I´ve never done pet portraits before.
Well - I can´t even paint a simple pet portrait without thinking about my usual themes.
We all say It´s a dogs life, but if I look at our dogs, I think they are more happy than we are...
Took the boys out into the yard for a long overdue photo shoot. The leaves are well beyond their beautiful stage, but I've always loved the way the dogs' colors look against an autumn background. With calls for snow next week, I didn't want to miss the autumn colors completely!

We adopted Sherman from a local shelter in about 1990. We later learned that his mother was a purebred Old English Sheepdog, and his father was a twenty year old Collie. When we brought him home, he weighed 43 lbs., when he was done growing, he weighed 115 lbs. He was considerably larger than the standard for either breed. We have never had a more gentle, or more intelligent dog. He has been gone for ten years now, and I still miss him. He was under a year old in these pictures.
Saw this dog in the back of a trusk and took the opportunity with the owners permission to take a shot.
What a little beauty who we are told enjoys her work as springers are ever eager to please.
Her name is Rags.
I've missed the last two weeks--bad Anita. :( No C/T for me. Sometimes life just completely overwhelms me, and these last couple of weeks have been one of those times.
Yesterday it was 62 degrees when the dogs and I went walking about 5:30 a.m., and by 10 a.m. the temperature was in an astoundingly rapid free fall. The low last night was 15 degrees. Brrr
I'm happy to be headed out of town--to France!--for a week. My sister has come to house and dog sit, since Savannah needs so much care now. I'm less happy she has to endure this deep freeze.
Rory went to Ditton DTC Open Obedience show today and came 3rd in the KC Special Pre-Beginner Stakes ( 2nd Anything but a Collie). Then followed this by coming 2nd to a Collie in the Pre-Beginner Class.
Both he and Florence have just missed out on qualifying for the Stakes Semi Final at Discover Dog at Earls Court in November this year.
Here is my EveryDayinMay post number 4. Still working on the drawing of Dachshunds. For some reason I got on this track of drawing a dachshund everyday for the last 4 days at least. It was not necessarily my intent to use this as a theme, and I may take a tangent onto other subjects for the remainder of the May challenge. For today, however, I give you this fellow. Basic outline in Micron pen with use of Derwent drawing pencils in Chocolate, Terracotta and Venetian Red.
