For the last of the father daughter walks I've enjoyed over the last few days, Amy drove me to the Moray Firth to stroll the shore beneath Fort St George above Ardesier. Guy had driven through the night from Birmingham with their two dogs - Cookie and Malo - arriving in the early hours as we all slept. While he slept late in the log cabin by Brin croft we walked with them as well as our Oscar and mum's Lulu. "We're in the same pack now" I said "once they waited and watched us from the woods, pondering our uses."

This is so not the photo I envisioned when I set out today. But I have an excuse. I hurt my back this week, and as a result have spent several days lying flat on my back. I attempted a 'shoe' themed shoot earlier in the week with even worse results (it's actually so bad it is kind of funny, I used it as Pyper 52 week photo because I couldn't bother to do another on for her. www.flickr.com/photos/55135762@N02/8666463174/in/photostr... ) BUT, today we awoke to SNOW, and I had this idea for a shot with Lucy and flip-flops in the snow lamenting the return of winter. Unfortunately, not being able to stand for very long, and Lucy having no idea what I wanted her to do (it was like I was suddenly speaking a different language), and her getting more and more confused the more I tried THIS is what I got. Not great, the shoes are cut off, and the focus is on her nose her eyes, but, at least I made the deadline. I hope things are better next week. Shooting is really difficult when you can only stand dead straight, not bend or kneel or move in any direction.
...we met this little sweetheart in the park. "Miles" was so patient with my girls and they just adored him...even the little one who's usually a hesitant dog lover...especially big dogs. He was definitely a gentle giant.
She was a true rescue. Our son brought her home as a very small, very sick puppy. We have a wonderful vet who pulled her through. She loves to play, she wiggles like a bug every morning when she first sees each of us. She can out lick any dog in the west. The only thing she bites is her dog food.
This is how he goes #2. He pees normally, but will walk for ever how long it takes him to finish his business...talented young lad..
