Daisy has had a problem with her Dalmation who, after a very positive start, suddenly started running away. When a hound runs they really run. So after failing to persuade her pooch to attend to its duty and come back when called she was forced to face up to the possibility that for the dog's and everyone else's safety she would have to stay on the lead for the rest of her life.
Imagine our delight therefore at discovering a fully fenced , safe dog exercise field especially created for 'problem' mutts who are either aggressive, or runaway artists or scared of other dogs.
We hired the place and Daisy at last got to see both of her pets really let rip. They had a ball. It's close to home, relatively inexpensive to book (about the amount people spend on a pack of cigarettes to put it into perspective) and it meant that Daisy had two tiredly happy and contented dogs for the weekend.
She'll definitely be going back!

Finally the days are getting longer and the Sun gets up before than us (just few minutes)!
So when we reach the beach in the morning the Sun is pretty high, its rays come just straight into my eyes when i'm walking to Souht!
But when I come back to North the sunlight in my back warms all my soul!
Only 2 months are left then the beach will be forbidden for dogs and so even for me.....

and it gave me some hippy feeling!
And I remembered a Lassie shot with a flower (of course we didn0t kill this flower but we found it on the ground! )
I think Lassie would be a good hippy, always telling us to live in peace and to love the world, just like dogs do!
So I wanna follow Lassie’s advice and enter this weekend with a peaceful atmosphere in my mind, for a while let’s stop running!

No standing in the kitchen waiting for her food......Lexi waits patiently in a comfy chair for her food be ready! The snood she is wearing keeps her ears clean!
Our beloved little dog, Mel has now passed on. He was 15.
Mel was a purebred Miniature American Eskimo Husky. The word 'miniature' was never in his vocabulary...he really thought he was a much bigger dog than the 10 lb dog he was. He wouldn't know what to to with a ball or stick if you threw it for him. But he was always there for me every day that he was in my life.
Hi all a quick update on our new family member Rocky the one year old Pugalier we picked him up on saturday he was trembling with fear and sick all the way home three and half hour Journey! His new life started proper on Sunday he has really bonded with Tyson and Rosie but is still struggling with human contact he will sleep on my knee with the other two as long as i dont touch him this causes his fear to take control and leap onto the floor the poor thing (how someone can mistreat a dog to cause it to fear human contact breaks my heart) I hope to catch up soon!
Zutaten:
6-8 Hotdog Würstchen (Frankfurter oder Wiener
Öl zum frittieren
Für den Teig:
2 Eier
150ml Milch oder Buttermilch
130gr. Maismehl
130gr. Mehl
2 EL Öl
1/2 TL Salz
1/2 TL Pfeffer
1/2 Beutel Backpulver
1/2 TL Knoblauchpulver
1/2 TL Paprikapulver,rosenscharf
ein wenig Chilliflocken (optional)
Zubereitung:
Die Eier mit den Gewürzen, dem Öl und der Milch verquirlen.
Das Mehl dazu geben und zu einem breiigen Teig verrühren.
Die Würste halbieren und mit Mehl bestäuben. Danach die Würste auf Schaschlik-Spieße stecken.
Den Teig in ein Hohes Gefäß geben, in den die aufgespießten Würste getunkt werden können. Dabei die Spieße drehen damit die Würste gleichmäßig mit dem Teig bedeckt werden.
Die Würste dann in heißem Öl (ca.180° C) frittieren. Wenn sie goldbraun sind können die Corn Dogs auf Küchenpapier abgelegt werden.
Fertig!
Dazu passen Ketchup, Senf oder Barbeque Sauce als Dip.

Dunure is a lovely small village on the Ayrshire coast. About 5 miles from Ayr. It was one of the first filming locations used for ‘Outlander’ season 3, and was used several times. It was also used in season 4, appearing in episode 7, ‘Down the Rabbit Hole.’
This is the beach and castle at Dunure. For you ‘Outlander’ fans, this is the location where Claire and Jamie watch young Ian swim out to retrieve the Jacobite treasure.
we've had a poopy week. merrick was definitely under the weather on friday and saturday ... it was more than just throwing up and unearthly smelling burps ... you could tell he was in pain and something was definitely wrong. he was restless, couldn't settle for even a minute, low energy, not playing, not running, nothing.
took him in ... xrays showed gas, possibly enlarged spleen ... but the most alarming thing was the VERY low platelet count.
took him in again on Saturday for some follow up bloodwork, and although the platelets had come up a little, they're still very low. the vet (not my regular vet) on Saturday told me that where he was then (vs. Friday) was high enough that we're no longer concerned about him bleeding out. huh!? the previous vet never even warned me about that possibility!
of course, when i read any personal experiences on-line re. low platelets in dogs, you read about numerous trips to the vet's and then ... the dog is dead, bled out, internal bleeding, or something. i hate the internet sometimes.
hopefully we'll have more answers as the week goes on...
