This is a photograph that I took in 1987 with my old Nikon FM. The truck in the photo was the first new vehicle I had ever owned. It was a 1983 Dodge D-50 Turbo Diesel built by Mitsubishi Motors of Japan. I photographed this somewhere in Northern Ontario during my drive back to the Yukon from Art School in London Ontario.
I think I stopped at this place because the C&H Hamburger Stand had been started by the parents of a good friend of mine at Art School many years before. They no longer operated it, but I stopped just to see what I could see. I'd studied at Art School from 1984 to 1987, doing the very long drive back and forth during my first and last years there, and taking the Greyhound Bus Twice. In those days, you could travel anywhere in Canada on a Greyhound for $99.00. The cost for diesel to power my drive one way was probably about $150.00. That was one of the advantages of running a four cylinder Japanese diesel. That truck was very frugal on fuel while the four wheel drive system meant that I could traverse the worst roads without too much concern.
In this photo, the truck was loaded up with all my worldly possessions for the last trip home to Whitehorse. Those were wonderful and exciting days.
Today a photoshoot marathon with friends.

Mexico has a strange mix of vehicles on its roads. Many European manufacturers have imported vehicles that they would never consider importing to the USA.
This can lead to some interesting side-by-side scenes!
Here my rental FIAT 500 (built in Mexico) is parked next to a Dodge Ram (possibly built at their Mexican plant). It has a 5.7 litre Hemi V8 petrol engine... the FIAT has a somewhat smaller everything!
As FIAT bought Chrylser (including brand names Jeep and Dodge) in October 2014, these are technically products from the same company which seems a bit odd!

Northside area of Cincinnati, Ohio. This rather beat up Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck is beginning to sag under the load. With the way things are being stacked into it, I know I certainly wouldn't want to be following it closely.

2002-2005 Dodge Ram 1500 or 2500 4x4 Quadcab. This pickup can transport prisoners it has a cage inside. You would think to save money the CA State Parks would be buying base model work trucks not SLT's but pickups from this era costed less than they do now and the SLT trim probably didn't add much to the price since they bought a bunch of these trucks at once.

"Winterlicht" in Betondorp, one of the neighbourhoods of Amsterdam Watergraafsmeer in Oost. A Winter morning in Amsterdam after a night with some hail showers and snow in combination with temperatures below zero. The Ploegstraat is one of the main axes in Betondorp parallel to the Middenweg.
Love the green Dodge Ram on the corner!
