Shot and edited on the iPhone

As always, a photo each day for 365 days. All shot and edited using Apps on my iPhone 5.

The photo was taken using the camera App ProCamera for iPhone. The original image can be found below.

First of all I used the app Handy Photo to edit the image. This was done by cloning away the electrical overhead wires from across the top of the image and a couple of the signs from the pathway at the side of the Canal. Next I used the app Camera Awesome to apply a preset called Wax Paper, this was done to deepen the blue of the sky and the water, also to add a little texture to the overall image. After that I used an app Distressed FX to add some extra texture to the image using the Egret overlay and the Lade Texture. I then used the app Wood Camera to apply a texture called Aquatic 1. I also used the same app to add the Birds to the image using Frame number 7. Finally I used PhotoToaster to edit the image a little more by applying the Recover Highlights feature and by adding a Blue filter. I also used the same app to apply a Canvas texture and add the Shadow II frame.

The original photo was taken Today overlooking Coventry Canal near to Sutton Stop. A very still and peaceful looking Canal toady with only one boat on the water at the far end of the image, near to the bend.

I stepped over cracks

Wished upon a star

Said a prayer or two

Or three

But nature takes its own course

And tomorrow is not a promise

Percival Lowell speculation that there were canals on Mars. In 1894, he chose Flagstaff, Arizona as the home of his new observatory, the now famous Lowell Observatory. In 1909 another telescope allowed closer observation of the structures Lowell had interpreted as canals as erosion. The canals were definitely disproved in the 1960s by NASA’s Mariner missions. Today, the surface markings taken to be canals are regarded as an optical illusion.

The photo was taken using the camera App ProCam for iPhone. The original image can be found below.

First of all I used an app called Leonardo to edit the image. This was done by adjusting the Colour Vibrance, Clarity and Brightness. I also boosted the Sharpness and Shadow Detail of the picture. Next I used Mextures to apply some lighting and texture to the picture. The preset that I applied was called Saturated Purple by Neal Dieker. After that I used the app Alien Sky to add the large Moon to the image. I then used Distressed FX to add a few layers of Overlays and Textures to the picture, the First layer was the Overlay called Egret and the Texture called Vanilla. The Second layer I added the Birds to the image with the Overlay Birds - Soulmate and the Texture called Broken. The last layer was the Overlay called Stirred and the Texture called Vanilla (second time using the same texture). Finally I used PhotoToaster to apply the Canvas texture and add the Shadow II frame.

The original photo was taken today in Kenilworth. This is a view of Kenilworth Castle. This time however I have taken the photo from another angle. This is an image taken from the side of the main Carpark of the edge of the Castle. I could not include all of the castle in this image because there is a lot of scaffolding in place on most of this side of the Castle.

Feb. 24, 2016: Hearst Castle 2015. In photogene used bleach preset and lighted shadows 50, darkened highlights .24. In PipPic used 01 preset. In snapped used brightness 36, warmth 12, lens blur 30 nd glamour glow #1 70. In DistressedFX used broken. In LoMob used instant wide.

The photo was taken using the camera App VividHDR for iPhone with the Dramatic Setting. The original image can be found below.

First of all I used the app LensFlare to edit the image. This was done by adding a flare to the street light on the left side of the lane. The flare used for it was called Blue Ring. After that I used Distressed FX to add a couple of layers of Overlays and Textures to the picture, the First layer was the Overlay called Stirred and the Texture called Lade. The Second layer was the Overlay called HDR and the Texture called Vanilla. Finally I used PhotoToaster to apply a soft dark vignette, an Instense FX, the Canvas texture and add the Shadow frame.

The original photo was taken just off of Priory Row in Coventry City Centre. The image is a view looking down the very narrow lane called Hill Top.

For 52 Weeks of Pix, "Sad"

"Getting lost-there was a time in my life where getting lost would have struck fear in my heart and sent me into a panic. I am not the spontaneous, adventurous, adrenaline seeking type of person. I am a map reader, a planner, an organizer, and a routine kind of girl. I love calendars and lists. I hate surprises. Hate them. I hate them to the point of not really enjoying opening presents on birthdays and Christmas. I like predictability. So, the other day, when my GPS took me a different way home from a store than I am used to, I was surprised when I decided to go with it. Instead of driving Interstate 83, the Maps App on my iPhone suggested the country route, along roads I had never driven. It said I could save about 2 minutes, so I thought, "Why not?"
