The push I had last year to plant more natives is now paying dividends, not only for the fauna but for me – I’m seeing even more activity in my gardens and especially at this current time, that is a real joy and source of distraction.
It’s officially autumn here, but it may as well be spring. This past week has seen the mass migration of the caper white butterflies, a proliferation of dragonfly and spider activity…and the birds!
I stand in my gardens and marvel at a spectacle and sound show to rival any firework display. The level of song and chatter incredible, bright colours everywhere as birds of all types entertain me, especially varying species of parrot winging past as fast as lightning, flashes of extravagant colour in the sunshine, against the bright blue sky.
Given the time of year, I wonder about this burst of activity. Traffic is much reduced, air quality better, but temps remain above average, continuing the trend not only Down Under but globally it seems.

I have been on a seminar for a couple of days. This is inside the beautiful building where it was held.
Hard to stay focus when the sun made all these beautiful lines on shadow on the wall!!!

As two large bull Elk engage in a battle for dominance, a smaller bull sneaks in to take advantage of the distraction.
“Distraction” is the ambient video is focus on mood and atmosphere. The Video show how we try to work… and how our temptation can distracting us to stay focus on our works.
I used the sound as the heart of the video. Took me long time to finish it as it is my first time come up with something like this.

i had noticed the PAWR have nested somewhere under the stairs
was out on the front porch with Riddle & Col , and had this little parent giving me the "Look Over Here" wing flutters.
Watched for a few moments before going in to let the feedings continue
Yet another from the trip that Ben and I took to Table Mountain last month. There were distractions everywhere as we made our way to Phantom Falls, I thought this cloud formation above the flowers was worthy of sharing even though some of the flowers are wind blown. Hope you enjoy, let me know what you think!
lux keeps her eye on Sipsey (and her stick) whilst making friends with Sipsey's new puppy pal, Sager.
Note: usually stuffed animals last a day TOPS in our house, Sipsey loves to eat out the squeakers. Sager has now been with us for three WHOLE days!

HFF from the Long Walk of Windsor Castle. This is the bit used most by the dog walkers and the occasional horse. I love it in the summer when the Chestnut trees are in full leaf and the light is green and comforting....

A magpie is bravely defending its territory by trying to distract a bald eagle and making it fly away but it seems that the eagle is not impressed. Taken on the last day of the year 2020 at Riverbend, #Calgary.
As this westbound Chicago and Northwestern westbound approached Ashippun, I got distracted by the fresh DM&E GP40 in the consist that is being transported to the newest railroad on the great plains and was a bit late on the shutter release. In hindsight, I should have been at the next crossing to the west, highway 67, that had wig wags for protection.

processing : make a fill layer w/ a deep blue / almost navy color and set blend mode to 'lighten', make another fill layer - pale yellow this time and set blend mode to 'multiply' then make adjustments according to your taste. =) got this tip from a tutorial i found at deviantart.

Algonquin Park's Lake of Two Rivers on a snowy winter morning is quiet - there's very little traffic on the nearby road, no bird calls, and no people! It's not that I have an aversion to these things - it's just that there are no distractions - at least not until the cold begins to seep in and you have to get moving again.

My photography is a necessary distraction for myself. Photography does not serve me any real purpose but something to do with my time. Throughout my photography, I've managed to create many meaningful relationships with the multiple individuals. I've encountered over the years. When I started photography, I was lonely. I had no friends. Due to my wild imagination, my crave for adventure, and being able to share amazing stories with other individuals were some of the driving force in my motivation to keep creating. Sometimes, I ask myself why create images? I honestly do not know. My friend told me if something provides me with a purpose then it is something worth pursuing.
