A garden mutant!! I see images of this condition taken by other photographers but this was my first time seeing it in person. This growth is apparently called 'fasciation' and made for an interesting thing to research (if you find yourself with a lot of free time)
I have been working on my model the last two Sundays. I looked over all my small details and people. I decided tonight that my second window display would be a sports theme. :D I'm happy with it.
This photo was taken at pretty close range. I went outside to play with my new camera and see what I could find. There is always something interesting in the habitat my husband and I have been creating over the past few years. The yard was much quieter than usual. However, I heard a noise and went to investigate. This Anole is what I found.
The male Anna's Hummingbird looks more like a flying piece of jewelry than a bird - especially at this nesting time of year.
In their thrilling courtship displays, males climb straight up to 130 feet into the air and then swoop to the ground with a curious burst of noise that they produce through their tail feathers. (Cornel Lab of Ornithology). All this while catching the sun to reflect stunning flashes of colour. They flash people with a camera too!
I had a private display dance by this marvelous guy that lasted for a long time. I took 107 photos. Here's a few. Posted for Our Daily Challenge topic - 'A Tough Act to Follow.'

This is a display I've worked on over the years. The Terraphant on right especially, it has figures I've parted together with parts I've come across here and there.
A regular performer at the bi-annual Farnborough Air Show is the prototype Airbus A380 which was announced as being part of the official fly-past listing along with military and stunt aircraft.
Being the first A380 built by Airbus, it remains with the company as a test bed as Airbus add modifications to the aircraft which will be added to production aircraft.
There is no denying that this A380 is a celebrity in its own right, having undertaken its first flight in April 2005 with much media attention along with many world-wide visits, visiting countries where airlines have ordered the superjumbo. She is powered by 4 Rolls-Royce Trent 970 engines.

Finally got around to setting up my display for my re-ment set. I got this box at The Container Store for like ten bucks I think. The setup is not as nice as I would have hoped, but DANG there was not a lot of room in there! I still love it though and now I just have to pray I don't drop it...lol.
This little Dunnock frantically kept flapping his wings & posturing. Think he was displaying in front of the ladies!

With these promo display, they have a 10 x 10 bas, having pin-holes on the side to connect with other displays.
Sense on the picture of the polybag shows Lloyd looking like he’s rushing to battle, I have him running in an alley. While also doing some organizing, I found a dumpster from the old spongebob set without the lid, and decided to use it… and pour all the broken droid arms in it with a cat and bag.
This is a small section of one of the bronze sculptures from the a-Maze-ing laughter display at Davie st. and Denman st. in Vancouver, British Columbia.
This is the classic broken-wing distraction display that Killdeer plovers use to draw attention away from their nests when disturbed. It catches the eye of the intruder, and when the bird is pursued, it gets up, runs in a direction opposite the nest, only to squat and re-display its broken wing distraction. Eventually the potential threat is far enough away from the nest and eggs, and the bird flies away and circles back to the nest area.
I didn't think my minifigures were getting the attention they deserved sitting in a box, and it was hard for the kids to find their favorites to play with. My solution was to prototype and build my own wall-mounted display case. It's 31" x 31" in size, holds 300 minifigures, and, at 1,515 pieces, weighs 6 pounds empty.
I envision this to be dynamic artwork, showing the 300 most interesting figures at any given time. I didn't want to enclose the display so that the kids could have easy access to any of our population.
