Second Trick Southern Pacific dispatcher coming on duty to oversee the Donner Pass line from Sacramento to Sparks, NV, makes an entry on the turnover book. The first trick man, going off duty, checks the entries. Location is the railroad's Sacramento general offices. The date is probably the afternoon of October 3, 1957. See "How to hoist 5000 tons 1 1/4 miles" by David P. Morgan in Trains, August 1958.

A.U.T.T.: Automated Traffic Turtle.

In Lego City, these Turtles are dispatched when ever a traffic signal goes down. Rather then relying on police or treating it as a 4 way stop, these turtles can be dispatched quickly to control the flow of traffic at the downed intersection. The Turtle is equipped with a standard set of traffic signals as well as 2 sides meant for stopping only so to allow tighter control. The turtle also has a set of blue lights for emergency vehicles that have the power to override the AUTT. The turtle's turn signals serve a dual function in that they are also solar panels so they can be dispatched in any scenario. There main mode of transport is by hovering so they can go over any terrain.

We have had a wonderful week here this week. We are having a featured story in our local newspaper and our two radio stations focusing on National Public Safety Telecommunicators week and the difference they make in our communities. Sending some pictures from our celebrations, thanks for all that you do in APCO to promote the field as a profession and for establishing this week to honor our great folks at the consoles.

In addition to the celebration of this success story our Administration met with the Full-time Staff today and informed them they will all be receiving a much needed and long overdue Salary increase. This was purely coincidence on the part of Administration; but a nice way to add to the festivities of the week.
