Gloves, Smile on Saturday

I have a grandcat and a granddog and even a cat nephew. But I have no cute face shots of my grands that were taken by me, and I'm pretty sure my sister will be posting a photo of my feline nephew. So here is Rufus, my Connecticut neighbor's cat. We called him "the philosopher cat" because he would sit on his porch for hours staring in one direction, seemingly contemplating life on Alewife Cove. He's been gone for several years now, but I still think about him often. And he looks a lot like my grandcat! ^-^

Dobie and I decided to go on a skateboarding adventure in the forest this evening, and we had a grand time wandering about, so much so that we completely lost track of the time. It seemed quicker than two shakes of a raven's tailfeather that dusk was upon us, and we had scampered so far into the woods that we were lost. Getting lost is a recurring theme for me, and yes, it happens in all lives: I have a really bad sense of direction. And on top of that, in SL, I have exceptionally poor navigational skills! So, full disclosure, I didn't actually do any skateboarding. And honestly, the terrain was not really ideal for it even if I was a super skater guru!

Fortunately for us, we happened upon this adorable and very friendly crow, and he kindly told us that we were going in the wrong direction (big surprise, right?!) and set us on the right path. Soon enough we were home again with another adventure to add to our memory album!

Happy, safe weekend, everyone! ♥

Two people are putting together a compass.

One of them says, "Okay, I got the North part here, South here, and East right here". Then the other guy says, "where's the West of it?”

HSoS!

Do you know where you want to go?

Feliz finde! abrazos ✨😊

At the gates of the weekend I leave you, a version of Silence by Delirium and also the original, I have always loved this song.

You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own, and you know what you know. And you are the guy who'll decide where to go. ~Dr. Seuss

Not so sure any more if I have brains in my head. Things are changing daily with Covid restrictions and recommendations. Sadly, it appears that now my adult children feel the need to "educate" me, haha. Hope you're all on the right path, my friends...

When going through a tunnel, the only direction is to go toward the light.

There is a tunnel.

Today we got the news......there is light.

Breathing easier. 'Nuff said.

RKO_6928. Almost grown up and ready to leave!

Another chick was picked on the head all the time, most probably forcing it to leave and start its own career? Or do they simply grow up a maximum of two chicks?

Not only when hiking off trails in the hills of the Wiehengebirge it is important to know the right direction. At the end of the day this rule is essential in all parts of life. Wittekindsberg, Ostwestfalen, Germany

Once upon a time you dressed so fine

Threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you?

But when you ain't got nothing, you got nothing to lose

You're invisible now, you've got no secrets to conceal

How does it feel, how does it feel?

To be on your own, with no direction home

A complete unknown, like a rolling stone

Start your day in a upward direction, and the rest of the day will follow the uphill path.

My instinct is to think its pointless to talk about how much I love one of my images- of course, why else would I share them. Nonetheless, this is one of those images that speaks to me more vividly than others. The way installed, man-made lighting makes the curves, bends and reach of these branches come to life.. and you only need to take a walk at night by this beach to enjoy it. What a beautiful existence we enjoy.

[Since1975] - Leafy Eyeglasses

maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Since1975/113/96/23 This is a group gift ,available at the New mainstore.

I had a brilliant afternoon on a big low tide, chasing patterns, and trying to trap the sky in the sand. The reflections weren't great as there was so much small weed and debris about, but the sand waves and ripples were wonderful. later in the day I spotted a Portuguese man of war washed up. Same direction by Hoobastank is perfect, as the sand seemed to be echoing the cliff strata.

Due to the fact that the wind comes almost from West, the waves become the same direction, from W to E, and wash the sand away

To stop/make less this washout effect, to break the stronght of the waves - that's the reason of this pillars. In the northern part of Zeeland there are beaches , many km long, and there are this pillars, always two lines together, repeating so about 500m. Depending from tide/low tide you can see 2,0m or nothing from them.

le long de la route 197

Saw very few grass-topped roofs while traveling in Scandinavia, but had a great view of this one from our hotel room in Lillehammer, Norway. Not only was this city the site of the 1994 Winter Olympics, but the surrounding area was incredibly beautiful with dense forests and rolling mountains. Lillehammer is located on the largest lake in the country, Lake Mjosa, making for picturesque views in every direction. This totally came to mind for the "Smile on Saturday!" group challenge "Begins with G" for both the grass roof topping and the grass mowing goat! Had to share a similar shot, taken in Door County, Wisconsin, which most certainly has a Scandinavian vibe to it: flic.kr/p/2mfjHsX .

maybe I could ever love my country—
