DERECHOS HUMANOS Y LA POBREZA. La idea es publicar una fotografía que pueda ser parte de una campaña a favor de la erradicación de la pobreza y la exclusión social.
Esta semana les presento mi trabajo, el cual es casi de foto periodismo, visto en una centrica calle de Puerto Ordaz.

On 05/01/2012, Direct Rail Services announced it had placed an order for fifteen 100 mph (160 km/h) Vossloh Eurolight locomotives from Vossloh España for intermodal and passenger work fitted with a Caterpillar 16-cylinder 3,800 hp (2.8 MW) C175-16 engine giving a maximum speed of 100 m.p.h. and to be delivered from late 2013. They are leased from Beacon Rail. A total of 34 were built in three batches. From 2016, they were built by Stadler Rail rather than Vossloh España. 68004 is seen here about to power away from Ingrow when working the delayed 10:40 Oxenhope - Keighley service, in tandem with preserved British Railways - Class 33 - 'Dennis G Robinson' - 33202, at the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway Diesel Gala, on 12/06/2022. This certainly is an unusual working, especially as the Class 33 is from the 'slim bodied' batch, of which more details can be found in my previous photos. The animal rights activist group Direct Action Everywhere held their May Day of action in downtown San Francisco on Saturday May23rd. The activists traveled from cities in the US, Canada and even Denmark, to once again bring their “It’s Not Food It’s Violence” campaign to the streets of San Francisco.
Approximately 100 activists took their message to a Whole Foods Store in downtown SF, to a food court inside the Westfield shopping center, and to Union Square. This group is trying to create an environment where activists can say anything to protect the animals.
According to their website Direct Action Everywhere or DxE is a "grassroots network of animal rights activists working to challenge speciesism throughout society. We use creative protest to challenge the use of animals for food, clothing, experimentation, and entertainment."
This group has grown and can be found in 70 cities in 17 different countries throughout the world.
Their current campaign, It's Not Food, It's Violence has garnered attention from mainstream media entities such as the New York Times, Mother Jones and CNN. They take their protest inside restaurants, supermarkets and on the streets.
I talked with someone from Denmark who worked in a small dairy farm, and she said the egg farms are akin to extermination camps, and their is nothing humane about their practices.
In 2014 the Federal Bureau of Investigation put animal abuse as a top tier felony because studies have shown that people who kill or hurt other people usually tortured or abused animals prior to their crimes.
The FBI released an official definition of animal cruelty which includes the following information:
“Intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly taking an action that mistreats or kills any animal without just cause, such as torturing, tormenting, mutilation, maiming, poisoning, or abandonment. Included are instances of duty to provide care, e.g., shelter, food, water, care if sick or injured; transporting or confining an animal in a manner likely to cause injury or death; causing an animal to fight with another; inflicting excessive or repeated unnecessary pain or suffering, e.g., uses objects to beat or injure an animal. This definition does not include proper maintenance of animals for show or sport; use of animals for food, lawful hunting, fishing or trapping.”

El viernes 25 de Nov el proyecto " Estar ahí " realizó una acción trasmitida en directo en el programa televisivo " De Hoeksteen/CornerStone (La Piedra Angular en castellano) a Nimk (Instituto Neerlandes -holandes- de Artes de Medios) en Amsterdam. Programa dirigido por el artista Bogotano Raul Marroquin.
Junto con Beatriz Londoño y Luz Marina Dominguez realizamos después de dar un paneo general por las intervenciones de la biblioteca, una acción que consistía en construir en directo los cubos necesarios para tapar la cámara del computador.

Nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI) is a common behavior referring to direct bodily harm without the intent to die. Emotion dysregulation is a central feature of NSSI, thought to reflect underlying deficits in affective control: neurocognitive processes involved in regulating automatic, reflexive emotional responses. Our previous research indicates that individuals who engage in NSSI before first experiencing suicidal ideation (SI; i.e., thinking about ending one’s life) may have worse affective control deficits than those who first engaged in NSSI subsequent to SI onset. This study aimed to better understand affective control differences in these groups. We assigned participants (N = 105) to groups based on interviews assessing history of self-injurious thoughts and behaviors: NSSI onset-first (n = 26), SI onset-inclusive (n = 31), and healthy controls (n = 48). Participants then completed multiple computerized behavioral tasks that measure various aspects of affective control. As hypothesized, individuals in the NSSI onset-first group exhibited worse negative emotional response inhibition than both the SI onset- inclusive and healthy control groups, F(2, 105) = 3.45, p = 0.036. We found consistent results (with medium effect sizes) even after controlling for frequency of participants’ past NSSI and SI episodes. This study adds to evidence suggesting that individuals who first engage in NSSI before experiencing SI might represent a high-risk subgroup characterized by particularly impaired affective control. Participants whose NSSI preceded SI onset demonstrated more difficulty inhibiting negative emotional reactions. Therefore, this group may be more likely to choose NSSI as a strategy to regulate negative affect.

Fort Buchanan, PR – A small group of outstanding Soldiers accepted the challenge to become an officer in the US Army-Reserve when the 1st Mission Support Command (MSC) held the latest field board as a step for the next Direct Commissioned Board that will convene on next summer. 14 Dec 2012.
The field board was conducted on the 1st MSC Headquarters at Fort Buchanan and for this time, five courageous Soldiers from different battalions were presented to the board.
1st MSC Human Resources Officer, Lt. Col. Paul E. Ortiz was the Chairman of the board. Other members of the board were Capt. Astrid Ruiz Adjutant for the 2nd Battalion 348th Regiment and Capt. Orlando Garcia, Adjutant for the 166th Regional Support Group.
“We are looking for experience, quality as individuals, Army Values” said Lt. Col. Ortiz.
“As an organization we do have a requirement to meet, we have fewer officers, especially junior officers” he added.
Currently the 1st MSC has 57 vacancies for lieutenant positions. The command is required to have 99 and only 42 officers have been assigned to fill these positions.
After a series of conversational situations were presented to the applicant for him or her to elaborate the members of the board evaluated their personal qualities and social skills that are required for an officer.
