He was very nervous in the pen, and had a minor rub mark on his nose from the chain as he kept trying to get away.

We had some difficulty identifying this fox seen on the far end airfield during the return leg of our longest penetration along the pipeline road in Kaa Iya National Park in the South-east of Bolivia. Our guide said it was "Yellow-legged Fox" which googling determined was local parlance for Pampas Fox but we were puzzled by the markings, which seemed spot-on for Culpeo! Further research and consultation with mammal-watchers via the internet determined it was indeed Pampas Fox.

Not too common, this one. We had it in the pub downstairs from our hostel near Albert Park in Melbourne.
Makes 2.25 lbs Difficulty Level 3 Ready In 30-60 minutes
Ingredients
confectioners' sugar
3 3/4 cups sugar
1 1/4 cup light corn syrup
1 cup water
food coloring (Optional)
1 teaspoon oil flavoring (available at pharmacy in flavors such as cinnamon, anise, wintergreen, spearmint, lime, etc.)
Directions
Sprinkle confectioners' sugar on 2 (15 x 11-inch) cookie sheets.
Combine sugar, Karo syrup and water in heavy saucepan and stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Continue to cook, without stirring, until syrup reaches 290 degrees F on (candy thermometer). Meat Thermometer will not work.
Remove from heat and add food coloring to desired intensity and the desired oil flavoring. Pour onto cookie sheets, cool and break into small pieces.
You can find special candy bags at a party store. One batch will fill a 2lb bag.
