What a difference a day can make in the life of a crocus. Yesterday the crocus was almost opened. I am glad I took the photo because today it was weather-worn and the petals were tightly folded. First 2020 Crocus (container plant from bulbs planted last fall). Morgan County, Alabama 2020

This is the sunset the night after the one shown below in the first comment. "Never the same way twice" is a good descriptor of Keefer Lake's true nature. I kind of like the curve that the wide-angle gives the horizon in this shot so I didn't correct it :)
Some houses at Spalding, I found the nearest semi-detached houses quite interesting. They share a roof but one neighbour has tiles, the other slates, etc. There's a good bricked-up gateway as well at the start of the row.

Grinding upgrade, a westbound train of oil empties rolls towards the summit within the Moffat Tunnel. A snowstorm later this evening would coat the scene in a blanket of white, visible in the following image.

🇬🇧The village of Megalochori lies in the centre of the main island of Santorini, on the south-facing side of the caldera. Unlike the most sought-after villages such as Oïa or FIra, there is no view of the cliffs or the sea unless you walk westwards. In the end, however, this disadvantage is not a serious one, as Megalochori has managed to remain a small, pleasant, residential village far from the hustle and bustle of tourism.

Half the battle with photography is being able to let go of a composition and move on to what's working for you.
The sun was setting over a nearby hill and just barely hitting these gorgeous lupins. I can't wait to show you this vlog.
About 10 seconds after I took this shot the sun went down and the lupins lost their magical glow.
I'll show you the difference that 10 seconds makes as the composition vanished before my eyes.
On another note, I hope you're managing to deal with the spamming scammer that's bombarding my comments section to try and fool you into some scam or other.
I decided to make a video explaining how to spot these scammers and also how you might have a chance at winning one my beloved cameras.

Obviously the same village church in Pulham St Mary. Taken with the same in camera Fuji settings for jpeg as the other day and from a similar position. The only real significant change is the natural light between the two days. The building itself seems to change in terms of texture! I much prefer the first image for the light but I thought it was interesting the difference between the light conditions and why we chase it so much. Anyway I decided to post this today.

I think this is one of my favorite images from my Yosemite trip (believe me, narrowing down my photos was a difficult job). I know this view of Yosemite is one of the most over-photographed places on earth, but the difference in this image is that I saw it with my own eyes, took the time to get there at 5am and was able to watch this glorious morning unfold.
To my fellow photographers: get up early, go outside and take it all in. Leave your camera at home if you like, just concentrate on the majesty of this earth for an hour or two!

Reminding me more of Alaska, winter swept in with an October Surprise this morning nearly two months before its official start.
But the trains keep rolling as they always do...be it sun or clouds, rain or snow, some things are consistent as they have been here for some 180 years on the rails of the old Boston and Albany.
This is just another Q436 (Selkirk to Worcester manifest) pulling in to work the yard this time with only a single unit up front.

Im Spätherbst fuhr ich bereits schon einmal diesen Weg durch Thüringen. Es war damals ein trüber Morgen. Heute war ich kurz vor dem Sonnenuntergang unterwegs...
Überwältigt vom Unterschied, den lediglich ein paar Sonnenstrahlen und ein imposanter Himmel machen können, muss ich euch hier noch mal beide Bilder zeigen!

this is an old picture that i did about 2 or 3 months ago. i really like it though so i thought i would upload it, but i like to think my editing had improved a bit since then, there's definitely a huge difference in my shading technique XD
i'm really angry/annoyed because my laptop that i do editing on has completely stopped working and it's also the one that has allllllllllll my pictures on and alllllll my sims (and i never uploaded my sims anywhere or gave them to anyone so they're all on that laptop :() so right now i'm hoping my dad can stop being lazy and fix my laptop hopefully tomorrow or the next day but until it's fixed (if it can even be fixed :/) then i can't work on any of my contest pics or anything :(
