On April 23, 2006, I rode a Speeder from Cordele to Plains, Georgia on a trip sponsored by NARCOA (aka North American Rail Car Owners Association). Since I don't own a Motor Car (aka a Speeder) , I rode with a friend who owns two Motor Cars. These are some photos that I took during my trip on the Heart of Georgia Railroad.
This Photograph show what we saw as we arrived in Americus, Georgia. Here we are passing a Crane on a Flatcar and a Gondola on a Siding in Americus, Georgia.
We are riding our Speeders on the Heart of Georgia Railroad (aka: HOG Short Line) and while riding thru Americus, Georgia, we saw Canadian National Locomotive Number 6409 (aka: CN) in a siding beside (what looks like a former Railroad Station Building).
Canadian National 6409 is a GP40-2 that was built by the Electromotive Division of General Motors.
NOTICE: The RMPX Reporting Marks indicate that it now belongs to PROGRESS RAIL SERVICES CORP, which Leases Locomotives.
In June 2018, my wife & I attended a Family Wedding at the Hilton Garden Inn, 275 Baker Street in Atlanta, Georgia. One end the hallway on the on the 13 Floor (they call it Floor PH) gave me a Great View of the CSX Tracks, while the other end of the hallway gave me a great view of the Skyview Ferris Wheel across the street from Centennial Olympic Park.
During our three day stay, I walked a short distance to the end of Baker Street to the CSX Tracks and photographed Union Pacific EMD SD70AH Locomotive 8841 from street level. The Locomotive was approx two blocks away parked under the Ivan Allen Jr. Boulevard Bridge. I believe that the Norfolk Southern Tracks meet the CSX Trucks under this bridge.
These Photographs show many of the CSX Maintenance Fleet that I saw and photographed in the CSX Hamlet Hump Yard.
In November 2005, I took an AMTRAK Train from Tampa Union Station in Florida to Hamlet, North, Carolina to attend a Summer Convention of the ACL/SAL Historical Society in and around the Hamlet Area Hamlet Metro Area, One of the sites we visited was CSX Hump Classification Yard Hamlet.

This Yard is relies on Gravity, a Ladder of Switches and Speed Retarders to assemble trains destined for all parts of the US and Canada on an assortment of tracks, one track for each destination. or Intermediate Yard.
37669 having arrived at Welshpool after being dragged from Shrewsbury by 97304 “John Tiley”. 37669 later ran round 97304 and lead to Machynlleth while undergoing ERTMS tests.
97304 “John Tiley” and 97302 approach Moat Lane Junction with the 6W70 10:42 Bescot to Talerddig ballast train. I was unlucky with the weather today. Had it passed a few minutes sooner or a few minutes later, I'd have photographed it in nice sunshine.

The 'new' station nearer Mallaig Junction (subsequently re-named Fort William Junction) and not the old one on the shore of Loch Linnhe.
The shot was taken from the rear of a departing train. The loco stabled with the stock in the siding (possibly the overnight sleeper - that is where it stables today) is no 27 020.
The area on the right is now all built on, primarily a road with a taxi rank and bus stops and a large Morrisons supermarket (originally Safeway).
