Male Chum Salmon, also known as Dog Salmon (Oncorhynchus keta), develope teeth during the spawning run. This Salmon was prevented from going upstream by a net that was across the stream mouth. Periodically the net would be lifted to allow the Salmon to pass. Since they could not pass with the net in place, they congregated against the net making for a roiling pool of fish.

The Triumph Herald was originally launched in 1959 as a cheap family 2 door Saloon and powered by 948cc S4 engine. Body design was by the Italian stylist Giovanni Michelotti and the car was offered in saloon, convertible, coupé, van and estate models.

Despite the popularity of the Herald, by 1960 Standard-Triumph was in financial difficulties, and was taken over by Leyland Motors Ltd in 1961., releasing finances to further develope the Herald.

The car was relaunched in 1961 as the Herald 1200, now powered by an 1147cc engine. The new model featured white rubber bumpers, a wooden laminate dashboard and improved seating. Quality control was also tightened up. Disc brakes also became an option from 1963.

Frazer Nash Le Mans Replica (1948-50) Engine 1971cc S6 OHV

Race Number 145 Peter Roberts

FRAZER NASH SET

www.flickr.com/photos/45676495@N05/sets/72157623665136729...

Shortly after WW!!, Frazer Nash were aquired by the Bristol Aeroplane Company and plans were put forward to develope a luxury Saloon under the Bristol name and a new Frazer Nash sports car, both to be powered by the former BMW 328 engine built under license by Frazer Nash during the second half of 1930s. Though before the cars could be marketed the companies had become independant once more. Bristol built their 400 and susequent models. Whilke Frazer Nash with limited resources produced a sports car that was a clear developement of the BMW. he chassis was new but still consisted of a conventional steel ladder frame. Suspension at the front was through lower wishbones with a single transverse leaf spring. A live rear axle was fitted with torsion bar springs. A development of the overhead-valve 328 engine was, which featured hemispherical combustion chambers. Equipped with three carburettors, it produced around 120 bhp..

A few of these cycle winged High Speed Models were built for competition, one of which achieved third position at the 1949 Le Mans 24 hour race driven by Norman Culpan and Harold John Aldington.

The success prompted orders for these cars, and in honour of the achievment the model was renamed Le Mans replica, from late 1949 when the power output was also increased to 125bhp. Around 50 were sold and competition successes include outright victories in the 1951 Targa Florio (Franco Cortese), and the 1952 Sebring 12 hour (Larry Kulok and Harry Gray)

In 1952 a Mark II version was introduced with a lighter tubular chassis.

Production was ended in late 1953 due to the imminent ban on cycle wing, bodied cars in sports car racing. but today the cars remain active in historic events and are extremely valuable, not supringly giving rise to the creation of replica Replicas

In the 1960's or 70's Crosthwaite and Gardiner built a number of replicas, after their restoration of an original frame following a racing accident. These cars used a duplicate tubular chassis and running gear from scrapped Bristols. The finished cars had copies of the Le Mans Replica bodies with the correct instruments and trim.

Another series of replica were began around 1990, by Werner Oswald and associates, who laid down parts for ten cars possibly copied from the Frank Synter Le Mans Replica I. These were sold in kit for (Werner Oswald Kits) also known as WOKs. Around the same time one of the Werner Oswald associates realising the Frazer Nash name had not been registered for a few years bought the title from Companies House. Meaning Oswald could now advertise the cars legally as having been made by Frazer Nash Cars Ltd. avoiding the cars aquiring Q plate registrations as kit cars.

The Chrysler Sunbeam had been aimed at the super-mini sector when launched in 1977. But it was felt that a hot hatch was needed to boost the sporty image. To this end the Chrysler Sunbeam Ti was launched in 1979 with a 1600 cc twin Weber carbs and an output of 100 bhp

Chrysler had also commissioned Lotus to develope a rally version. The car was unveiled at the 1979 Geneva Motor show , but the road going version was not offered to the public until after the re-branding and became the Talbot Sunbeam Lotus. With a 2172 cc version of the Lotus 2.0 ltr 16v slant valve engine and ZF gearbox. both mounted in the car at Ludham Airfield, close to the Lotus facility in Hethel, Norfolk, where the almost-complete cars were shipped from Linwood. Final inspection, in turn, took place in Stoke, Coventry In road trim, the type 911 engine produced 150 bhp increased to 250bhp in rallying trim. The Sunbeam Lotus was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in April 1979, but the road-going version of the rally car was not ready for deliveries to the public until after the rebranding, and thus became the "Talbot Sunbeam Lotus". At first these were produced mostly in black and silver, although later models came in a moonstone blue and silver (or black) scheme. The car saw not only enthusiastic press reviews, but also much success in the World Rally Championship - in 1980, Henri Toivonen won the 29th Lombard RAC Rally in one, and, in 1981, the Sunbeam Lotus brought the entire manufacturer's championship to Talbot

This one of the later facelift cars with the modified head lights. The earlier short (134) is of a pre-facelift car with the original head lights.

The car won the World Rally Championship with Henri Toivonen in 1981 and the 1980 Lombard RAC Rally

From the mid 1990's Endurance Racing catagories were re-organised and Group C was superceeded by the GT1 classification. The 911 GT1 was designed for racing along with a street legal version the 911 GT1 Straßenversion (Street version).

Porsche expressed interest in returning to top level sportscar racing and went about developing its competitor for the GT1 category. Cars in this category were previously heavily modified versions of road cars, usually supercars such as the McLaren F1 and Ferrari F40, but when the 911 GT1 was uneveiled in 1996 Porsches answer was, rather than to rather than develope a race car from one of their existing models, why not create a purpose built sports racer and develope a road going supercar.

Despite the 911 name the new racer bore very little in common with the 911 family, even though its front chassis was shared with its 993 version of the 911 the rear was derived from the earlier 962 Group C car ncluding its water-cooled, twin-turbocharged and intercooled, four valve per cylinder flat-six engine which was arranged in a mid-mounted position, compared to the rear-engined layout of a conventional 911. The engine was making about 592bhp.

The new car won won the GT1 class at Le mans, its debut event, ceeding overall victory to Joest Racing's Porsche WSC-95 prototype. The 911 GT1 made its debut in the BPR Global GT Series (the FIA championship's predecessor) at the Brands Hatch 4 hours, where Hans-Joachim Stuck and Thierry Boutsen won comfortably, although they were racing as an invited entry and were thus ineligible for points. They followed up by winning at Spa and Ralf Kelleners and Emmanuel Collard triumphed for the factory team at Zhuhai. The 1996 car was clocked at 205mph in practice on LeMans Mulsanne straight (in low drag form) and with its engine at 640bhp.

For 1997 the GT1 was not as effective, firstly against the McLaren F1 GTR, then against Mercedes new CLK-GTR. Towards the end of the season, revisions were made in preparation for 1997. The front end was revised with new bodywork and head lights and the car renamed 911 GT1 Evo. The car had the same 592bhp turbo engine, but the new aerodynamics increased speeds. At Le mans the car suffered reliability issues, and an older privately entered 1996 managed 5th overall, third in class.

The cars were heavily revised for 1998 as the 911 GT1-98. Designed to match the also new Toyota GT-One and Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR, the 911 GT1-98 featured bodywork which bore more of a resemblance to traditional sports-prototypes than the previous 2 models while a new sequential gearbox was installed. As per the regulations a street-legal version of the 911 GT1-98 was spawned, but it is believed that only one variant was produced which was still sufficient to satisfy the regulations.

This car had languished for a long time and has been brought back to race trim by Mark Sumpter and his team at Paragon and the race track beckons. The engine rebuild has been completed by Paul Knapton involving around 150 hours work

Branches contain spines on them. Inflorescences develope after cladodes, axillary, each a many-flowered raceme or panicle 1-4 cm. Pedicel 1.5-3 mm, slender, articulate at middle. Flowers are white with a pink tinge, 2-3 mm, bell-shaped with 6 petals. Stamens equal, ca. 0.7 mm; anthers yellow, minute. Within India and Pakistan, it is found growing wild in tropical and sub-tropical parts of India and Pakistan including the Andamans; and ascending in the Himalayas up to an altitude of 1500 m. The size of flower is very small just little bit thicker then a ball pen tip about 2-3 mm. its very difficult to see these red pollen seeds on the first sight. During Season the whole plant cover with these tiny flower and gave pleasant fragrance. Even they are in my garden for last few year but surprisingly i had just notice them. They are incredibly small in size.
