Located just in front of Akbari Gate of Lahore Fort, the old Shahi Begum Masjid is hidden within a cluster of residential houses and tyre shops.

The deteriorated masjid offers splendid geometrical (if not that much with floral) patterns that would develope into the grandeur seen in Masjid Wazir Khan.

From the mid 1990's Endurance Racing catagories were re-organised and Group C was superceeded by the GT1 classification. The 911 GT1 was designed for racing along with a street legal version the 911 GT1 Straßenversion (Street version).

Porsche expressed interest in returning to top level sportscar racing and went about developing its competitor for the GT1 category. Cars in this category were previously heavily modified versions of road cars, usually supercars such as the McLaren F1 and Ferrari F40, but when the 911 GT1 was uneveiled in 1996 Porsches answer was, rather than to rather than develope a race car from one of their existing models, why not create a purpose built sports racer and develope a road going supercar.

Despite the 911 name the new racer bore very little in common with the 911 family, even though its front chassis was shared with its 993 version of the 911 the rear was derived from the earlier 962 Group C car ncluding its water-cooled, twin-turbocharged and intercooled, four valve per cylinder flat-six engine which was arranged in a mid-mounted position, compared to the rear-engined layout of a conventional 911. The engine was making about 592bhp.

The new car won won the GT1 class at Le mans, its debut event, ceeding overall victory to Joest Racing's Porsche WSC-95 prototype. The 911 GT1 made its debut in the BPR Global GT Series (the FIA championship's predecessor) at the Brands Hatch 4 hours, where Hans-Joachim Stuck and Thierry Boutsen won comfortably, although they were racing as an invited entry and were thus ineligible for points. They followed up by winning at Spa and Ralf Kelleners and Emmanuel Collard triumphed for the factory team at Zhuhai. The 1996 car was clocked at 205mph in practice on LeMans Mulsanne straight (in low drag form) and with its engine at 640bhp.

For 1997 the GT1 was not as effective, firstly against the McLaren F1 GTR, then against Mercedes new CLK-GTR. Towards the end of the season, revisions were made in preparation for 1997. The front end was revised with new bodywork and head lights and the car renamed 911 GT1 Evo. The car had the same 592bhp turbo engine, but the new aerodynamics increased speeds. At Le mans the car suffered reliability issues, and an older privately entered 1996 managed 5th overall, third in class.

The cars were heavily revised for 1998 as the 911 GT1-98. Designed to match the also new Toyota GT-One and Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR, the 911 GT1-98 featured bodywork which bore more of a resemblance to traditional sports-prototypes than the previous 2 models while a new sequential gearbox was installed. As per the regulations a street-legal version of the 911 GT1-98 was spawned, but it is believed that only one variant was produced which was still sufficient to satisfy the regulations.

This car had languished for a long time and has been brought back to race trim by Mark Sumpter and his team at Paragon and the race track beckons. The engine rebuild has been completed by Paul Knapton involving around 150 hours work

Ok, so not a lot of time to do my 365 today, but I did it dang it! lol

We spent the day doing wedding stuff. Wrapping up loose ends, picking up rings, making phone calls...so fun!

So, I did a quickie 365 today, I've been a Nikon girl since I picked up my first camera...a Nikon N8008, it was my dad's and we'd shoot black and white film, then we'd coop ourselves up in our home darkroom and drink hot chocolate and develope the film. Those were some of the best times of my childhood and from that point on I was hooked to photography and I always will be, it's in my blood.

My dad still has the darkroom, we don't shoot black and white film anymore and the nobody uses the darkroom at all :( I have a few roles laying around as well as the Nikon N8008, my dad gave it to me...so maybe, I'll load up the old 35mm, shoot some film and develope it in the old darkroom.

I took the pictures in to be developed a day or two before the L. A. RIOTS broke out in April 1992. When the SHOOT , SCOOT & LOOT was over at FEDCO, they tried to set the store on fire, but the automatic sprinklers came on and some of the pictures show water damage and very slight to a lot of exposure damage. My other rolls of film were completely wasted. I finally got these pictures back about a year later.

Now four of these photos I processed myself because at the time Fedco didn't develope the images because they thought the film was too badly damaged to do anything with. So I just got the negatives. Well I remedied that problem. I had a lot of negatives but didn't want to pay a lot of money to take them to a film lab. So I bought a Kodak Slide 'N Scan digital Film scanner, no old school chemicals and dark room needed. Ain't technology gr8?

Leyland started work in the late sixties on the FPB7(Forward Project Bus 7) to design and develope an integral rear-engined single deck city bus. Following the formation of the state owned National Bus Company or NBC for short, that came into power on the 1st January 1969,when BET and the Tillings Group were merged together, resulted in the NBC and British Leyland joining forces to design a standard single deck bus to be bought by the NBC, the date was July 1969. Thus the FPB7 project bus now coded B7 became the Leyland National. A brand new state of the art factory was built on the outskirts of Workington at Lillyhall, to build the Leyland National at the rate of 40 per week. Pilot production of the Leyland National commenced at the new factory during late August 1971. Cumberland Motor Services or CMS for short was a former Tillings company, now part of the NBC had the honor of being the very first company in the world to put a Leyland National in service. Our of the 10 pre-production Nationals to be built, CMS took number 00005 ERM 35K fleet number 350, which was handed over to the NBC at their head office on New Street in London on 13th March 1972. A few days later ERM 35K entered service with CMS and operated a short journey from Workington to Whitehaven on the 41 service, the driver was Barry Taylor. It then started to operate the 05 service on 16th March 1972. Here we see during the long hot summer of 1972, ERM 35K picking up passengers outside the Shiprights Arms on Bransty Row,CMS' head office was next to the pub. It will be noted that when new, ERM 35K wore the Tilling livery with the small gold Cumberland fleet-name, also it had dual doors, and was later converted to a single door layout. ERM 35K was withdrawn from service in 1986, and cut up for scrap in 1988. The only weakness the Mk1 National had was the dreaded 510 engine.

Within each body, made of flesh and perfume, steeped in memories, in the same bones, in the marrow, circulating life.

It's not on the skin, does not stop in the folds of his soul, life flows through the ground, life gets inside.

The life is in the hands, our feelings, is in bone.

It'is harsh, it's hard. But it is beautiful. God particle is inside us.

Kodak 2238 shot at ISO 80 with Nikon EM and DKL Schneider-Kreuznach Xenon 50mm F/1.9 in adapter. Developed in glycin-carbonate 1:10 for 60 minutes stand development. Glycin carbonate should develop underexposed film and add a bit of speed, but getting 2238 to ISO 80 was too much for the glycin. I have used 2238 with glycin before and I’m not encouraged that it will appreciably raise the ISO of this film. Very muddy and underexposed/developed. However artistically, there is a lot to exploit there. So while this isn’t great snapshot territory I love what it offers artistically or for a look from another time/place. I will give the glycin carb one last try with the 2238 but at something more approximating it’s base development window. Water stop, fixed with Ilford Hypam 1:4 for 6 minutes.

From- "What You Want to Know About Fiom Developers; Dr Edmund W. Lowe;1939--

Formula 14--- Glycin-Carbonate for Slow Tank Development

-Stock Solution-

Sulfite (Anhydrous)............15grm

Sodium Carbonate (Anhydrous)...60grm

Glycin.........................15grm

Water..........................2 liters

Dilute 6oz.s stock with 58oz.s water. Develope 35 to 60 minutes at 65 degrees..... favored by those who like to put their film in the developer and forget about it for an hour or so. Little or no agitation is necessary after the film is first put in the tank, because the low sulfite content prevents the streaks and uneven development which are due to diffusion of silver bromide......

It has been a long time since I took part in the Flickr Friday contest, especially because I don't have my digital camera anymore, so it was impossible for me to shot (and develope) something quickly enough. But I was checking the weekly topic some days ago and, even if I wanted to partecipate, I had no clue of what I could do... And then yesterday, my mom decided to clean the furniture of the kitchen: a show that is rarely displayed! I can't even count how many vases and kettles we have, but I thought the collection was appropriate and I decided to use my phone to capture it. Too bad I remembered to upload it only today!
