I developed this film using QWD ECN-2 chemistry. It's a long story about a gift of 4 Silbersalz rolls that should have included developing and scanning back in Stuttgart. Instead, the film took a round trip from New York to Frankfurt, getting stuck in German customs for months with indifferent support from Silbersalz. So upon their return to me, I developed and scanned them myself. QWD makes a great product for home development of Vision3.

I am still struggling with color development, but I am getting better. I think the colors from this roll are interesting, although I tweaked them slightly in photoshop. Certainly a different look.

The Oasis was developed by Mrs Mabel Pottinger and her two sons, Norman and Lewis. The family settled in Sunnybank in 1923 where they set up a small poultry farm on 2½ acres of land. The Pottinger family acquired more land on which they grew crops and tropical fruits. By 1931 they had become commercial flower growers. After a while they put in a lawn tennis court amid their lawns and well-kept gardens and then, in 1937, they decided to dig, by hand, a swimming pool. They drilled two bores and dug a well to draw water. Oasis baths opened in 1938 (Oasis Tourist Gardens). By World War II a fern house, a tearoom, a dance floor, and two more pools, were added. The big break for The Oasis’ commercial success came in 1942 when the business serviced as a rest and recreation venue for thousands of the American military personnel. After Norman and Lewis were discharged from war service in 1945 they build a third swimming pool and a wading pool. A butterfly and shell collection was added as well. The Oasis Tourist Gardens was among Queensland’s first premier amusement parks. Until its closure in 1989, The Oasis attracted national and international attention for its world-class gardens and reception lounge.
For decades there was an Oasis, a much-loved complex of pools and tropical gardens located right in the middle of suburban Sunnybank in Brisbane! The Oasis Swimming Pool and Gardens was eight acres of lawns, tropical gardens, three swimming pools, a children's wading pool, playground, miniature zoo of native birds and animals, a tearoom, dance floor and reception centre that was used for many local weddings and events. The tropical gardens themselves attracted national and international attention.
The Oasis was created by Mrs Mabel Pottinger and her two sons, Norman and Lewis who turned their former flower, fruit, vegetable and poultry farm into the attraction. It all started in 1937 when the family built a tennis court amongst their well kept lawns and gardens. The family then added a swimming pool, digging it themselves by hand, drilling two bores and a well to draw water. The Pottinger's opened their facilities to the public in 1938 as the Oasis Tourist Gardens. The Oasis really started to take off in 1942 when during the Second World War thousands of American military personnel stationed in Brisbane used the Oasis as a rest and recreation venue. Over the years Norman and Lewis continued to add pools and new attractions to the property to increase patronage. The Oasis remained a popular Brisbane attraction for 51 years until in 1989 the owners sold the property to developers to build a housing estate. By 1989 attendance numbers had slumped with the increase ownership of backyard swimming pools and automobiles, meaning people could now easily drive to the beaches of the Sunshine and Gold Coasts.

The Developing Leaders Initiative (DLI) is the premier leadership program for Sigma Alpha Mu undergraduates, funded by the Sigma Alpha Mu Foundation. Exceptional undergraduate members from across North America are selected to participate in this special program. Sigma Alpha Mu is excited to share that the program is being changed to an annual program that will consist of a rewarding six-month leadership experience beginning with an in-person weekend meeting in January and concluding with a virtual meeting in May with the Octagon.
This play is both hilarious, relevant and memorable... Rick Westerkamp and Grace Thomas getting into character....
My developing reels were giving me an unusual amount of trouble loading the film and certain frames suffered badly from buckling creases. In this case though, I'm honestly not sure if the shot would've been better unscathed. The white streak looks like a tear in spacetime to me.

Developing the Guatemalan theme, onto a casual mens top, made to be worn under one of the coats. The silk screen print design is a modern adaptation I have developed from the traditional geometric motifs that are used in the woven fabrics of Guatemala.
