A medieval Islamic-era fortification in Cairo, Egypt, built by Salah ad-Din and further developed by subsequent Egyptian rulers. It was the seat of government in Egypt and the residence of its rulers for nearly 700 years from the 13th to the 19th centuries.
I developed my second concept: The superhero has conquered Cereal Mountain with nothing but a spoon! What a feat! :)
In terms of composition and readability, I think I was successful. But I had very different plans for the coloring. I'm really, really held back by the fact that I have little experience with Photoshop and Illustrator. I had intended to digitally paint this piece to add shadows and depth, but I couldn't figure out how to get rid of the background, let alone use any brushes (yes, even after a couple tutorials and endless attempts). So I was limited to live painting. It took away a lot of the detail I had in my penned drawing, but the blocky coloring adds to the comic-like aesthetic of the final design.
I wish this little Fiddleback Fig Tree would grow!

Rollei Retro 400S developed in Firstcall D74 developer 5.5mins at 30'c.
The roll of film displayed light leaking around the top of the sprockets but I don't know the reason for this, but it did allow me to create a more interesting panoramic feel to the images.

A developing Supercell across far Northeast Wisconsin on July 1 2017. Only isolated storms were expected, but this beast began to develop along an old outflow boundary from a storm early in the afternoon. Aiding in the development was a lake breeze boundary. The updraft was so explosive.

I developed this film using QWD ECN-2 chemistry. It's a long story about a gift of 4 Silbersalz rolls that should have included developing and scanning back in Stuttgart. Instead, the film took a round trip from New York to Frankfurt, getting stuck in German customs for months with indifferent support from Silbersalz. So upon their return to me, I developed and scanned them myself. QWD makes a great product for home development of Vision3.

Full of stewing organ meats, this caldron smells like terror but looks like awesome.
Shot with a Nikon FE2 and Voigtländer Ultron 40mm f/2 SLII on Lucky SHD 100 stand developed for an hour in Rodinal 1:100.
It was used just once for developing a roll of b&w 35 mm film about three decades ago. Perhaps it will serve more usefully as a subject in a picture.
