Manchester Christmas Market

Don your Santa hat, dust off the mulled wine glass, and get into the festive spirit - it’s time to head down to Manchester’s world famous Christmas Markets.

Attracting shoppers from all over the UK and beyond, the market has put Manchester city centre firmly on the Christmas map – the Christmas Market has become not just a fabulous place to shop but also a hugely popular leisure destination in its own right. No Mancunian winter is complete without a wander through the chalet-lined streets of the markets.

This year the market will be celebrating its 13th year and will take over eight different spaces around the city, each with it's own distinct character and atmosphere.

The array of over 200 stalls is mind-boggling, with mouthwatering delicacies from all over Europe. The choice is getting bigger and bigger and includes gifts, crafts, jewellery, clothes, toys and an array of food and drink. Treat yourself to anything from Dutch mini pancakes, to Hungarian goulash to Spanish paella to French profiteroles. Relax with a hot chocolate, German or Spanish beer, or French wine. Soak up the atmosphere of a truly international event with a uniquely Mancunian flavour.

European and local producers offer everything from fine amber jewellery, handcrafted leather bags, and top quality bonsai trees, to Dutch cheeses, French breads, and Spanish chorizo. Perfect for alternative gift ideas.

The Christmas markets first arrived in the city in 1998, when the council of Frankfurt hosted a small traditional German market of just 17 stalls in St Ann’s Square.

And with all glasses and mugs returnable as part of an environmentally friendly deposit scheme, your Christmas markets are greener than ever.

City Market is a mixed-use project in the nation’s largest Historic District in downtown Savannah, Georgia. The rehabilitation of the four-block area began in 1985. The result is a physical facility that economically could not be replicated today. City Market has established itself as a destination for entertainment, dining, art and retail in downtown Savannah.

The 6-30-13 Sunday edition of the Troy Grove branch line train was northbound at Shabbona with its crew on one hour of time remaining. BNSF let them cross at BX ahead of an eastbound and they sneaked into DeKalb with ten minutes to spare.

Thanks to Gilbert for the tip as they crossed the Mendota Sub.

This fall 2016, the NYC DOT Art Program and New York Cares partnered for the thirteenth round of Barrier Beautification to present “Destination,” designed by Frank Parga. The artwork, presented on barriers located along a protected bike lane on South Street between Pike Slip and Clinton Street in Manhattan, features an astronaut traveling through outer space. Although space may seem daunting and mysterious, this astronaut is comfortable with his or her journey as they proceed “forward” along South Street. With the assistance of NYC Department of Sanitation, the Midtown Community Court Justice system on priming day and the support of 25 New York Cares volunteers on design implementation day, the mural was installed along 700 linear feet of barrier surface.

This was a 5 minute short movie for my English class, on the idea of Naturalism. I had to, of course, cut it down to 90 seconds. But the idea is still there.

Please let me know what you think :) It's my first creative film.
