Coyote Gulch is a tributary of the Escalante River, located in Garfield and Kane Counties in southern Utah, in the western United States. Over 25 miles (40 km) long, it exhibits many of the geologic features found in the Canyons of the Escalante, including high vertical canyon walls, narrow slot canyons, domes, arches, and natural bridges. A popular recreational destination, it is located within both the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument (upper sections) and the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area (lower sections).
The headwaters of Coyote Gulch have their origins along a 14 mile (22 km) segment of the Straight Cliffs, the eastern edge of the Kaiparowits Plateau. These intermittent streams merge to form larger branches, including Dry Fork, Big Hollow, the main branch of Coyote Gulch, and Hurricane Wash. The combined flow from these branches have carved a canyon up to 900 feet (300 m) deep into sandstone layers, before meeting the main channel of the Escalante River.
The northernmost branch, Dry Fork, is one of the most popular destinations in the area. A short side road leads off from the Hole-in-the-Rock Road to a trailhead above the wash. A brief descent then leads to four areas of interest. The Dry Fork Narrows is an excellent example of how occasional flash floods have carved a narrow slot into the underlying Navajo Sandstone. Approximately 20 feet (7 m) deep, the slot can be followed upstream for several hundred yards. Further upstream from this area is a large sandstone dome exhibiting extensive layering and crossbedding, remnants of its formation from sand dunes. Just downstream from the mouth of the Narrows, Peek-a-boo Gulch has carved an even narrower channel into the sandstone, leading to a tube which empties into the main wash 10 feet (3 m) above the main streambed. Further down, Spooky Gulch shows just what "narrow" means. Despite being over 30 feet (10 m) deep, the channel rarely widens to more than 15 inches (0.5 m), forcing hikers to walk sideways. Its name comes from how little sunlight penetrates to the bottom of the slot. Finally, further down the main wash, Brimstone Gulch exhibits many of the features of the larger slot canyons in the area.

Return to the Western world! We spend one month in Croatia, and sample the joys of Central Europe by the Adriatic Sea.
Zagreb is thoroughly modern and beautiful, with a livelier local crowd, fresh markets, and more hidden gems than Prague or Budapest.
The Plitvice Lakes are one of the most awesome national parks we have visited so far.
Dubrovnik is like stepping back into the 1400s, all rocky hillside, stone streets, towering city walls, and Mediterranean blue sea.
Split is Croatia's second city, perched on the sea and built around the Roman ruins of Diocletian's Palace. We would love to come back here.

Found this old caboose (MP 13692) while on a side trip in the City Park on the west side of Benton, IL. Apparently brought and placed here for permanent display on a section of an old abandoned rail spur that use to connect between mainlines. On one end of the caboose, the rails disappear under a blacktop paved park street and on the other side it goes but a short distance into the woods.

View of a traditional mud brick house in Abyaneh village, situated around 80km from Kashan, at the base of the Karkas mountains, in Natanz County, Isfahan province of Iran.
Characterized by a peculiar reddish hue, Abyaneh is one of the oldest village in Iran, known to have existed 2,500 years ago. The culture of Abyaneh has been largely preserved, with a few hundred residents speaking Middle Persian and dressing in traditional clothing.

Destination indicator on EC28 "Prinz Eugen", at Wien West, Sept 1992. I've always thought these are such a good idea, why we can't have them on British trains I don't know.
EC28 "Prinz Eugen" was an early morning train, 0820 from Wien to Hamburg, arr. 2207, that ran from 1971 to 2004. It ran as a TEE service until 1978, when it became an IC service. In 1986 it became a EuroCity service, which it remained until it's demise as a named train in 1998.
It was loco hauled until 1998, when it became an ICE. Routings and destinations varied throughout its life, serving at various times Hamburg, Bremen & Kiel as seen here.
Its routing was always Wien-Linz-Wurzburg, but from thereon at various times either went via Frankfurt & the "Rheinstrecke", along the banks of the Rhein to Koln & Hamburg, or direct Wurzburg-Hannover-Hamburg.
This occasion was a family holiday, we took the train to Koln, routed as above via the Rheinstrecke. At Koln we changed for Bruxelles & Ostend, & a ferry to Dover a day or two later.

Photographer Vanessa Pelletier recently hopped a plane to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to photograph a friend’s destination wedding. After the ceremony, she wanted to present them with an elegant wedding album.
To capture the feel of the island, Vanessa chose a mango Kolo Newbury album and added a string of pearls through the binding. The wedding colors were yellow and coral, so the mango of the album complemented the carefully chosen professional luster prints, visually enhancing the story told throughout the album.
In this Video, Mahesh Hiranandani explaining about Anatta's destination treatment program. Our treatment process involves a team that travels across the globe in treating our clients, we use private islands, or properties of our client’s choice, details of venues are discussed and finalized with clients directly. Tie ups with companies owning these properties is kept totally confidential.
Having a good start in recovery increases your chances of success. Leaving all that you know behind gives you a powerful opportunity for transformation – and treatment requires you to transform. Probably the most common reason clients choose a destination rehab is it can offer them a solution not available in their home country.

It was only a small job and one that I could complete in a day - clean out, prepare and repaint the destination blind area. I never knew that Harrington always painted these areas blue to reflect the light, but I was proud of my small effort to help keep the restoration of a bus that is over 50 years old moving forward.

Contested Destination features photography, drawings, and video by six artists – Gina Osterloh, Betsy Lin Seder, Jeannie Simms, Gabie Strong, Kristine Thompson, and Carrie Yury. All of the artists are former students of artist Connie Samaras, a full professor at University of California, Irvine, whose exhibition Tales of Tomorrow is currently on display in Armory’s Caldwell Gallery. Contested Destination has been organized by Armory chief curator Irene Tsatsos with Connie Samaras.
Contested Destination is an evocative look at ideas of precedents and homage, an alternatively organized matrix of time, and what Donna Haraway calls “reinscribed history,” all through the lens of artworks that evoke performance and performativity. The show includes:
photographs by Gina Osterloh from All of Our Edges, a series that depicts an obscured figure in a monochromatic environment and reflects the tension between blending into and remaining distinct from an environment or an external presence;
a series of photographs entitled Fool’s Gold (from the Elephant series) by Betsy Lin Seder, which lavishly represent that glittering mineral while evoking feelings of ambiguity, aspiration, and loss;
I’ll Keep Merapi’s Lava Away from the People, a video by Jeannie Simms that features women teaching or mimicking the dance-like movements of one another; the work is from her Readymaids series, which consists of videos made collaboratively with women inside a maid-training agency in Java, Indonesia;
video by Gabie Strong, entitled Memories of the Space Age, which shows a rocket being launched in slow motion; the title of the work distorts a sense of time by implying nostalgia for something that arguably has not happened yet, and the imagery literally slows down something as its accelerating;
a photograph of Kristine Thompson integrating – or ingratiating – herself into a photograph of artist Ana Mendieta as part of a series of works in which she responds to the work of deceased artists who addressed issues of self-portraiture, sentiment, and the relationship of their bodies to specific sites;
drawings by Carrie Yury from a series entitled (My) Performance Anxiety, in which the artist addresses her conflicted relationship to performance art through a series of drawings of famous feminist performance art works, revised by having placed animal masks on their faces.
