As a designer I usually have dozens of open windows and applications. I almost never see the desktop, so I try to free myself of any clutter, especially the Finder.

I moved the iMac G5 back to the living room and replaced it with a notebook stand. The SGI O2 is still my main desktop computer.
It is a basic computer consisting of a CPU, Monitor and keyboard attached to a wall socket, which enables convenient power consumption. They have great space for heat exchange. More @ www.netbytes.biz
Here's a desktop wallpaper that i did for my girlfriend (allison) and i's computer. fooling around with text arrangement.
I got lucky with the desk that was provided in my apartment this year, I have enough room to easily setup my desktop and monitor arm.
I think this makes a fine computer-desktop background image.

This is my desktop, a pretty organized one. The template isn't actually mine. A friend sent it to me, I just don't know where did he found it, but worth sharing cause of its ingenuity, though.

Well, after getting annoyed with my last attempt - it didn't even make a day - I came up with this. While it's a lot more simple than some of my previous desktops, I really like how it turned out.

A quick test to see what a tilt & shift lens can do for panoramas. This image is build using 9 (3x3) images. Each column was created using 3 vertical images. the bottom and top images where created using maximum shift. I used this setup
And then the fun started. Both CS5 and Hugin went berserk. In the end I had to stitch each column seperately and then stitch the columns together.
Am I the first person to create a panorama this way or is there a better way to do this?

It's not my usual setup - I just have returned from some traveling so there are many thinks that are usually located at work (laptop etc.).
