In the black-run, downhill plummet of my photographic journey I seem to have careered off-piste. I fear that I am lost forever….
The problem started when I went to a talk organised by the Royal Photographic Society given by Tony Sweet (tonysweet.com/ ) on Creative In-camera Photography. Since then I have been exploring the potential of multiple exposures of the same subject using a variety of approaches, but mainly small camera movements.
And it’s interesting.
And, frankly, a bit difficult to master. There are quite a lot of variables to play with, and different subjects need different approaches.
I thought I would share some of the fun I’ve been having with a range of things I’ve tried. I can’t say at all that I have mastered the technique, but it may encourage you to have a go yourself - you don’t need a camera that handles multiple exposures really as there are some easy ways to combine images in the processing (ask me for some details if you are interested).

Made using the winter tree wallpaper by deviantart user olde-fashioned, some subtly tweaked enigma and HUD-vision rainmeter skins, and the SUPERCOLOSSAL Rainmeter clock skin, as well as an area o4.1 Visual style. Also using launchy, but that's not as interesting as the other stuff.
A desktop freebie for you - it works well!, I'm using it now! Closeup of reflecting pool at Bahai Temple.
Another shot from my recent trip to Yosemite. This one is similar to the one I use on my Desktop background (Mac:El Capitan) except was taken at sunrise not sunset.

Another transparent 'desktop', this time on my iPod touch.
To all visitors from Smashing Magazine - HELLO!
Just a quick note - this transparent screen was created by holding the iPod and working out a good holding position, then removing the iPod without moving my fingers and taking a photo of my empty hand, then editing that photo in Photoshop, cropping it down to the exact dimensions of the iPod touch screen. I then loaded the photo onto the iPod touch, set it as the wallpaper, held the iPod the way I did originally and took another photo with my fingers aligned exactly right so as to 'sell' the transparency.
I used RocketDock with Reflections icon pack.
