Cushendun (from Irish Cois Abhann Duinne, meaning 'beside the River Dun') is a small coastal village in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It sits off the A2 coast road between Cushendall and Ballycastle. It has a sheltered harbour and lies at the mouth of the River Dun and Glendun, one of the nine Glens of Antrim. The Mull of Kintyre in Scotland is only about 15 miles away across the North Channel and can be seen easily on clear days. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 138 people.
It is part of Causeway Coast and Glens district.
The nearby hamlet of Knocknacarry is located approximately 0.6 miles to the west.
Cushendun village, was designed for Ronald McNeill, the Conservative MP and author later Lord Cushendun in the style of a Cornish village by the architect Clough Williams-Ellis. He is buried in the Church of Ireland graveyard near his nationalist cousin Ada or Ide McNeill, Roger Casement's friend and admirer who died in 1959.
Since 1954 most of the village and the parkland around Glenmona to the north has been owned by the National Trust. Cushendun's picturesque coastal setting in the heart of the Antrim Coast and Glens Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, together with its architectural inheritance, resulted in designation as a Conservation area in 1980.
The nearby caves of Cushendun have been used as backdrop in the series Game of Thrones.
Alright, this is not the official designation of this area between the 18th green of the Lost Farm course at Barnbougle and the tee to the par three 18A (one of two extra holes on this 20 hole course). You won't find any reference to it as such in the brochures or website. But let me assure you that this is tiger snake country.
You wouldn't be planning a swim in this water hole when you see what's in the water at the end of this little jetty. And I'm quite sure that by now there are plenty of miss-hit balls in there too. I should add that tiger snakes are also very good swimmers.
Old windows, old doors of Hudson, NY
Formerly Claverack Landing, Hudson was once a hub for the whaling industry — and it very nearly became New York’s capital city.
Of all the many cities and towns in our region, only one was named after Henry Hudson, the Valley’s first European visitor. How the designation came to be is, well, a whale of a tale.
Until 1784, the city of Hudson was known as Claverack Landing. It was a farming community of 10 or so families—around 150 people. But that was about to change.
In the years during and right after the Revolutionary War, the Royal Navy clamped down on American whaling— one of the biggest industries of the 18th century (especially in New England). In 1783, brothers Seth and Thomas Jenkins from Nantucket set sail for a new beginning. They found a home base in this unlikely locale—100 miles from the ocean— on a deep and safe harbor with plenty of land. Claverack Landing presented an opportunity to build a company town from scratch… which they did.
The Jenkins brothers and 28 other whalers, who became known as the Proprietors, formed a company and bought the land from Dutch families (who had previously purchased it from the native Mohicans). They laid out a city grid and put into place everything a whaling enterprise would need: ship builders, rope and sail makers, coopers, and more than a few saloons. Within three years, the city had several wharves, four warehouses, plus “a covered rope-walk, spermaceti-works, one hundred and fifty dwelling-houses, shops, barns, one of the best distilleries in America, and fifteen hundred souls,” according to the New York Journal.
On November 14, 1784, Claverack Landing became the first city to be incorporated in the brand-new United States of America. However, according to an 1862 chronicle, Historical Sketches of Hudson, the Proprietors wanted a new name. They unanimously agreed that “it should be called by the name of Hudson.” There is no record as to why they insisted on the name change, but according to the book, at least one person wasn’t happy: New York’s first governor George Clinton. He wanted Hudson named after himself.
In 1797, Hudson was one vote short of becoming the capital of New York State. Nevertheless, the city has survived and thrived, and today represents a true gem of the Hudson Valley.

ENG: Niederbarnimstraße (postal code 10247) is a street about 300 meters long in the Berlin district of Friedrichshain and thus in the district of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. It begins at Frankfurter Allee as a continuation of Proskauer Straße, continues to Boxhagener Straße and there merges with Simon-Dach-Straße. The street is part of the Südkiez and has been named after the former district of Niederbarnim in Brandenburg since 1904. And this is exactly where this wonderful staircase is hiding.
Niederbarnim is a part of the Barnim landscape. It became an administrative unit in 1815 as the district of Niederbarnim, which until 1920 included Tegel, Weißensee, Pankow, Friedrichsfelde, Reinickendorf, Rummelsburg and Stralau, among others. Dissolved in 1952, it now belongs again to the Barnim district, as it did before 1815.
Previously street no. 14, section XIV of the development plan. The street was already included in the October 1905 Berlin Street Directory, but its route was still entered without a designation on the 1905 map.

Actually it’s not a rose at all, but a perennial Hibiscus plant (Hibiscus syriacus).
The term 'Rose of Sharon' is a biblical one and comes from Song of Solomon in the Old Testament, Chapter two, verse one.
The beloved says 'I am the Rose of Sharon, a rose of the valley'.
Scholars disagree as to what specific plant/flower is being referred to. Some think it refers to a lily, others to a crocus, and some believe it refers to a wild tulip. One thing they all agree on is that it is not the current Hibiscus plant that is commonly called a Rose of Sharon, because Hibiscus originally comes from East Asia, not the Middle East.
This is just one example of how confusing names of plants can be, with colloquial and regional names often being far from correct to the botanical name and designation.
All that aside, enjoy this macro of this lovely flower :)
The katana belongs to the nihontō family of swords, and is distinguished by a blade length (nagasa) of more than 2 shaku, approximately 60 cm (24 in).Katana can also be known as dai or daitō among Western sword enthusiasts, although daitō is a generic name for any Japanese long sword, literally meaning "big sword".[ As Japanese does not have separate plural and singular forms, both katanas and katana are considered acceptable forms in English.
Pronounced [katana], the kun'yomi (Japanese reading) of the kanji 刀, originally meaning dao or knife/saber in Chinese, the word has been adopted as a loanword by the Portuguese. In Portuguese the designation (spelled catana) means "large knife" or machete.
Fathom Five National Marine Park is a National Marine Conservation Area in the Georgian Bay part of Lake Huron, Ontario, Canada, that seeks to protect and display shipwrecks and lighthouses, and conserve freshwater ecosystems. The many shipwrecks make the park a popular scuba diving destination, and glass bottom boat tours leave Tobermory regularly, allowing tourists to see the shipwrecks without having to get wet. Many visitors camp at nearby Bruce Peninsula National Park and use the park as a base to explore Fathom Five and the surrounding area during the day.Fathom Five also contains numerous islands, notably Flowerpot Island, which has rough camping facilities, marked trails, and its namesake flowerpots, outlying stacks of escarpment cliff that stand a short distance from the island, most with vegetation (including trees) still growing on them.Established in 1987, the park represented a pioneering departure for the national park system, which had centered on land-based conservation until then. Its designation as a National Marine Park foresaw the creation of others, though nomenclature for such units would morph into National Marine Conservation Areas, leaving Fathom Five as the only National Marine Park. Despite its unique name, it is categorized as an NMCA, and is deemed the first one in the country.
I hope you enjoy my photos as much as I enjoyed taking them. Many thanks to everyone who chooses to leave a comment, or add this image to their favorites, your kindness is much appreciated.
The name designation in the map function of Flickr is often wrong, as in this contribution. Ooijen is on the west side of the Meuse River; De Hamert on the east.
The National Park 'De Hamert' is a great place to walk in any season, even in dreary, gray winter. This area was already settled in the bronze and early iron ages; it has only been partially excavated for archaeology in order to leave finds for later generations.
The heath is grazed by Kempen Heath Sheep whose forebears - as uncovered sheep bones attest - lived here as early as the bronze age.

Riphean mountains - the designation of the heights that give rise to the main rivers of Scythia; in Greek mythology, these are the mountains on which the dwelling of the north wind Boreas was located. The presumed correspondence is the modern Ural Mountains.
“Beyond these mountains, on the other side of Aquilon, a happy people (if you can believe it), called the Hyperboreans, reaches very old age and is glorified by wonderful legends. It is believed that there are the loops of the world and the extreme limits of the circulation of the luminaries. The sun shines there for half a year, and this is only one day when the sun does not hide from the spring equinox to the autumn equinox, the luminaries there rise only once a year at the summer solstice, and set only at the winter. This country is all in the sun, with a favorable climate and is devoid of any harmful wind. Homes for these inhabitants are groves, forests; the cult of the Gods is managed by individuals and the whole society; strife and all sorts of diseases are unknown there. Death comes there only from satiety with life. There can be no doubt about the existence of this people.”

Arkaim is a mysterious ancient city, a fortified wooden settlement of the Middle Bronze Age at the turn of III-II millennium BC. e., considered the same age as the Egyptian pyramids and ancient Babylon, much older than ancient Rome and Troy. Excavations have shown that the inhabitants of the city were representatives of one of the oldest Indo-European civilizations - that branch of it, which is called the Aryan culture.

The Douglas C-47 Skytrain or Dakota (RAF designation) is a military transport aircraft developed from the civilian Douglas DC-3 airliner. It was used extensively by the Allies during World War II and remained in front-line service with various military operators for many years.
Approximately 100 different countries' armed forces have operated the C-47 with over 60 different variants of the aircraft produced.
The C-47 differed from the civilian DC-3 by way of numerous modifications, including being fitted with a cargo door, hoist attachment and strengthened floor - along with a shortened tail cone for glider-towing shackles, and an astrodome in the cabin roof.
During World War II, the armed forces of many countries used the C-47 and modified DC-3s for the transport of troops, cargo, and wounded. The U.S. naval designation was R4D. More than 10,000 aircraft were produced in Long Beach and Santa Monica, California, and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Between March 1943 and August 1945, the Oklahoma City plant produced 5,354 C-47s.
The specialized C-53 Skytrooper troop transport started production in October 1941 at Douglas Aircraft's Santa Monica plant. It lacked the cargo door, hoist attachment, and reinforced floor of the C-47. Only 380 aircraft were produced in all because the C-47 was found to be more versatile.

In the 1950s Hoffman was the sole importer of Porsche products into the U.S. He had told Ferry Porsche that Americans didn’t buy cars with numbers – only cars with names – and he suggested the 1955 models should all have names. He had already established this precedent with Porsche’s limited production America Roadster in 1952 and with the 1954 Speedster, a stripped-down, low-priced 356 roadster only offered in the U.S. at just $2,995.[1] For 1955 he convinced Porsche to badge the 356 coupes and cabriolets as the “Continental” to reflect their European origins. Perhaps Max Hoffman was channeling Edsel Ford. Interestingly, by the time Ford Motor Company noted their objections, Karosserie Reutter had already punched holes in about 200 sets of front fenders! The Pre-A coupes and cabriolets were already wearing the “Continental” nameplate. In addition, the earliest 356A models, introduced late in 1955, also had fenders punched with nameplate holes. The quick fix was a switch from the gold-colored Continental script to the name European on early 1956 models.
The so-called “Pre-A” designation was added later in Porsche history to distinguish the new cars introduced in October 1955 from earlier 356 coupes and cabriolets and the very first Speedster models built in 1954. The Pre-A cars (coupe and cabriolet) are actually more interesting to examine because of their unique styling traits, which differed noticeably from the 356A versions. One of the more distinguishing characteristics was the rear fender treatment, which had a wider, more graceful wheel arch, covering more of the tire. Other production changes that occurred during Pre-A production, particularly in 1952, included redesigning the bumpers, which were originally integrated into the body until October 1952 (1953 models) after which bumpers were separate pieces mounted through the body as seen on the 1955 Continental cabriolet pictured from the Barry and Glynette Wolk collection. The first use of separate bumpers was on the America in 1951-52. Other running changes included replacing the original split windshield with curved, one-piece glass beginning in March 1952, and dropping the temperamental 4-speed crash box for a new synchromesh transmission in 1953. The 1952 models were also among the first to come equipped with the more powerful 1500 Super motor (beginning in March 1952), upping displacement from 1.3 to 1.5 liters (91 cubic inches). The smaller VW-based 1100cc engines also remained available through the 1954 model year. The engines in the first production cars had been modified VW motors fitted with new aluminum cylinder heads. Porsche increased the flat four’s swept volume to 1488cc by lengthening the stroke 10mm and using a new die-forged Hirth[2] crankshaft. Bore x stroke were now 80 x 74mm, however, at 1.5 liters the VW engine had been taken as far as its design would permit. Porsche would have to begin building their own engines if they wanted to go beyond the 1.5 liter’s capacity. Chief engineer, Dr. Ernst Fuhrmann, had already begun to tackle this problem in 1950 under the product designation Carrera, the Spanish word for race, which by the end of the decade was to become synonymous with the Porsche name.

The Space Shuttle Atlantis (Orbiter Vehicle Designation: OV‑104) is a Space Shuttle orbiter belonging to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the spaceflight and space exploration agency of the United States. Constructed by the Rockwell International company in Southern California and delivered to the Kennedy Space Center in Eastern Florida in April 1985, Atlantis is the fourth operational and the second-to-last Space Shuttle built. Its maiden flight was STS-51-J from 3 to 7 October 1985.
Atlantis embarked on its 33rd and final mission, also the final mission of a space shuttle, STS-135, on 8 July 2011. STS-134 by Endeavour was expected to be the final flight before STS-135 was authorized in October 2010. STS-135 took advantage of the processing for the STS-335 Launch On Need mission that would have been necessary if STS-134's crew became stranded in orbit. Atlantis landed for the final time at the Kennedy Space Center on 21 July 2011.
By the end of its final mission, Atlantis had orbited the Earth a total of 4,848 times, traveling nearly 126,000,000 mi (203,000,000 km) or more than 525 times the distance from the Earth to the Moon.
Atlantis is named after RV Atlantis, a two-masted sailing ship that operated as the primary research vessel for the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution from 1930 to 1966.

The Crab Nebula (catalogue designations M1, NGC 1952, Taurus A) is a supernova remnant and pulsar wind nebula in the constellation of Taurus. The now-current name is due to William Parsons, 3rd Earl of Rosse, who observed the object in 1840 using a 36-inch telescope and produced a drawing that looked somewhat like a crab. Corresponding to a bright supernova recorded by Chinese astronomers in 1054, the nebula was observed later by English astronomer John Bevis in 1731. The nebula was the first astronomical object identified with a historical supernova explosion.
At an apparent magnitude of 8.4, comparable to that of Saturn's moon Titan, it is not visible to the naked eye but can be made out using binoculars under favourable conditions. The nebula lies in the Perseus Arm of the Milky Way galaxy, at a distance of about 2.0 kiloparsecs (6,500 ly) from Earth. It has a diameter of 3.4 parsecs (11 ly), corresponding to an apparent diameter of some 7 arcminutes, and is expanding at a rate of about 1,500 kilometres per second (930 mi/s), or 0.5% of the speed of light.
At the center of the nebula lies the Crab Pulsar, a neutron star 28–30 kilometres (17–19 mi) across with a spin rate of 30.2 times per second, which emits pulses of radiation from gamma rays to radio waves.

10 KING STREET EAST, GANANOQUE, ONTARIO
Building/Property Name: Visitor Centre/Gananoque Library
Address: 10 King St East
The former Victoria Hotel, currently used as a public library, stands on the north bank of the Gananoque River adjacent to Confederation Park and near the Town centre. It is composed of a two-storey main block facing King Street East, and a single-storey rear wing that runs along the south side of Park Street.
Statement of Cultural Heritage Value or Interest:
Constructed in the 1840s, the two-storey brick main block has design or physical value as a relatively rare and representative example of a Classical Revival style hotel. Its balanced, ‘temple’ front features a central entrance flanked by large shopfront windows, symmetrical fenestration at the second level and gable, and low front gable roof with returned eaves. The design or physical value extends to the rear wing, which includes a cupola with bell cast roof. The property has historical value and associative value not only as an early hotel in the community (originally the Albion Hotel, then Victoria Hotel) but also for its direct association with the Jones Shovel Company, a successful local company that operated in the building between 1906 and 1963. Combined, the architecture of the main block and wing defines and supports the historic commercial character of King Street East in downtown Gananoque, and serves the community as a public library.
Description of Heritage Attributes
Key attributes that express the design or physical value of 10 King Street East include its:
• Combined two-storey main block and storey-and-a-half rear wing;
• Low front gable roof on the main block with returned eaves;
• Second level balcony on the King Street East frontage of the main block that is supported by decorated metal pillars;
• Symmetrical fenestration and door openings on the King Street East front (east) of the main block;
• Symmetrical fenestration and central door on the north façade of the rear wing; and,
• Cupola with a bell cast roof on the rear wing roof.
Key attributes that express the property’s contextual value include its:
• Location in the centre of the Town and siting with minimal setback on a main thoroughfare; and,
• Visual relationships with other 19th century historic properties including the Old Foundry (9-15 King Street East) and Town Hall (30 King Street East).
The Pitts Special (company designations S1 and S2) is a series of light aerobatic biplanes designed by Curtis Pitts. It has accumulated many competition wins since its first flight in 1944. The Pitts biplanes dominated world aerobatic competition in the 1960s and 1970s and, even today, remain a potent competition aircraft in the lower categories.

Excerpt from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dongdaemun_Design_Plaza:
Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) is a major urban development landmark in Seoul, South Korea, designed by Zaha Hadid and Samoo, with a distinctively neo-futuristic design characterized by the "powerful, curving forms of elongated structures." The landmark is the centerpiece of South Korea's fashion hub and popular tourist destination, Dongdaemun, featuring a walkable park on its roofs, large global exhibition spaces, futuristic retail stores, and restored parts of the Seoul fortress.
The DDP has been one of the main reasons for Seoul's designation as the World Design Capital in 2010. Construction started in 2009, and it was officially inaugurated on March 21, 2014. It is physically connected to Seoul Subway via Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station on Line 2, 4, and 5.
The Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) was designed by British-Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid, winner of the 2004 Pritzker Prize, with the concept of "Metonymic Landscape". Metonymy refers to a method of describing a specific object indirectly, and Hadid integrated historical, cultural, urban, social, and economic aspects of Seoul deduced from this method in order to create a scene of the landscape. Designed as a cultural hub in the historical district of Seoul, South Korea's largest fashion district, the DDP is composed of undulating surfaces that resemble the flow of liquid and allow flexibility in space. The state-of-the-art BIM (Building Information Modeling), mega-truss (extra-large roof truss) system, and space frame system are the key features in terms of creating grand-scale spaces. According to Hadid, the fundamental features of her design were "transparency, porousness, and durability." Many ecological features, including a double-skin facade, solar panels, and a water recycling system, are included in the building.
The construction project for replacing Dongdaemun Stadium with a public park has been discussed in the media since 2000, and the city of Seoul established a basic master plan for alternating the function of Dongdaemun Stadium in 2005. Upon the advice of architects, and in order to secure a high-quality design for the new landmark of Seoul, the city invited architects in February 2007 to participate in a design competition. The city requested that the architects include a design plaza, underground spaces, a history park, and a culture park in the project, according to the guidelines. Zaha Hadid's Metonymic Landscape won the competition.
The exterior envelope of the DDP, a smooth and giant mushroom-like structure floating above ground level, is made of concrete, aluminum, steel, and stone. The interior of the building is finished with plaster reinforced with synthetic fiber, acoustic tiles, acrylic resin, stainless steel, and polished stone in the interior.

The Crab Nebula (catalogue designations M1, NGC 1952) is a supernova remnant in the constellation of Taurus, it was first identified in 1731 by English astronomer John Bevis. The nebula was independently rediscovered in 1758 by Charles Messier as he was observing a bright comet. Messier catalogued it as the first entry in his catalogue of comet-like objects.
After some observation, noticing that the object that he was observing was not moving across the sky, Messier concluded that the object was not a comet. Messier then realized the usefulness of compiling a catalogue of celestial objects of a cloudy nature, but fixed in the sky, to avoid incorrectly cataloguing them as comets.
William Parsons, 3rd Earl of Rosse observed the nebula at Birr Castle in 1844 using a 36-inch (0.9m) telescope, and referred the nebula as the "Crab Nebula" because a drawing he made of it looked somewhat like a crab. He observed it again later, in 1848 using a 72-inch (1.8m) telescope and could not confirm the supposed resemblance, but the name stuck nevertheless.

One of many such designations across the country--this one in extreme SW Colorado. I would pass another the next day 100 miles or so down the road. In spite of the fact that the other CR is designated a National Monument, this one is, IMO, much more aesthetically pleasing (I discovered later the other CR received its designation due to the presence of an archeological site).
When I took this, I was in one hellacious hurry--something I usually avoid on my vacations . . . except near their end, and this was very much near the end. After touring the Valley of the Gods in Utah an hour previously, I was now trying to make it to Mesa Verde National Park before losing the light (I succeeded--though barely)--trying to squeeze it in to my quickly eroding schedule. In spite of my rush, I did stop to take this photo about halfway along.
If you hate photos of bluffs and Mesas, then you should probably unsubscribe from my photostream, as there will plenty of such photos in the weeks to come. As I noted, I also visited the Valley of the Gods, but before that, I also spent a couple days in Monument Valley.

The Douglas C-47 Skytrain or Dakota (RAF designation) is a military transport aircraft that was developed from the civilian Douglas DC-3 airliner. It was used extensively by the Allies during World War II. During the war the C-47 was used for troop transport, cargo, paratrooper drops, glider towing, and military cargo parachute drops. The C-47 remained in front-line service with various military operators for many years.[2] It was produced in approximately triple the numbers of the larger, much heavier payload Curtiss C-46 Commando, which filled a similar role for the U.S. military.
Approximately 100 countries' armed forces have operated the C-47 with over 60 variants of the aircraft produced. As with the civilian DC-3, the C-47 remains in service, over 80 years after the type's introduction.
Perhaps the biggest 1940s re-enactment show in the country. |Complete with a temporary airfield for the duration of the show, various aircraft can land and take off, and fly over the showground for air displays. Attending will be thousands of re-enactors from all theatre's of war, allies and axis , living history groups will displaying in adjacent fields . Add that to the hundreds of military vehicles attending .

"Command this Galaar, we're running out of cover! If we advance any further we'll be completely exposed to enemy fire. Requesting close air support to cover our advance."
"Negative, trooper all air assets are currently occupied with the space battle."
"Understood Sir. Is there an alternative route? Anyway for us to bypass the enemy position and minimize casualties?"
"Negative, the only way through is a frontal assaults, that facility must be destroyed no matter the cost. Is there anything else commander?"
"No Sir."
"Very good, you have your orders... For the Republic."
"For the Republic..."
"This is it Vornskr! We're hitting them head on, prepare to charge!

Another quick entry for the 253rds final mission before I head off back to school. If I have some time one of these weekends I'll try to get another one done, I decided to go all in with the planets "vibrant plant life"/mostly stone terrain and ended up really liking the colors. Wouldn't mind working with them again. Until then, thanks for stopping by and have a good one!
Offered once again as a comparison to the preceding image of Amtrak 662 which was captured at nearly the same angle over 23 years later. Amtrak 916 leads a regional consist east through Edison, NJ. Based on the time of day and consist, this may have been train 95, the Old Dominion. Back then trains still carried names, although the "Northeast Direct" designation (a precursor to today's Northeast Regional service) did appear in the timetable as well.

The prongs Haren is a nature reserve in the north of the country Brandenburg . He is one of the largest wetland complexes in the forest natural area of Granseer plate with a variety of habitat types . The reserve covers an area of about 823 ha in the districts Glambeck , Gieben , Großmutz , Hoppenrade and Linde the municipality Löwenberger Land
Flora and fauna
Worth protecting plant communities in Haren prongs are particularly alder-swamp forests , alder - ash forests , large and small sedge marshes , wet meadows and bogs . The area serves as a habitat and refuge for a variety of animal species. These include strictly protected species such as bats , the black stork , crane , the lesser spotted eagle , the kingfisher , the green sandpiper , the fire-bellied toad and the moor frog .
History
The prongs Haren was once hunting ground of the family of value based on Schloss Hoppenrade . He was in the context of land reform in the Soviet occupation zone in 1945 expropriated and divided. During the period of the German Democratic Republic it was used by the State Forestry operation. 1990 sought to provide the Haren prongs under protection. The designation as a nature reserve finally took place in 2003. In the same year, 160 ha of the area were from the Federal Republic of Germany at the Green League for natural management transfer. [2]
The reserve is part of the European bird reserve Upper Havelniederung.

///Log Entry\\\
Parts of the gunship crashed down on the landing platform, and then silence, followed by screams of wounded civilians.
"We need to get down ASAP! Secure the perimeter and get all wounded out there! And try to find the doctor, we can only hope she is not injured too severely and can take care of the patients''.
"Yes sir!!!!"
You could hear the roar of the separatist gunships getting louder and louder the closer we get to the platform.
"Sergeant!! We found the doctor; she is jammed below some engine parts of the gunship below the landing platform!"
"We need to get down to her ASAP! And get a bacta tank ready she might be severely injured!"
Sir, yes sir!

"The flak from the monasteries guns was intense, explosions rocking the gunship as it flew through Teth's hazy sky. Bralor's Mandalorian scouts had been right, any assault made by General Skywalker on the Separatist held Temple a few klicks west would be all but impossible as long as these guns were operational. Unable to land in the monasteries courtyard or conduct a proper air assault the gunship pilots had been instructed to fly past the structure and land in the jungle at it's base, where the clones of the 253rd Legion would be able to stage and prepare for the next phase of the operation outside the range of the enemy guns.
Stepping out of the LAATi and into the gloomy jungle Galaar peered up at the monaster. It sat atop a massive mountain of stone, it's walls supplemented by a several kilometer tall sheer rock face, a dauting climb for the troopers who had been unable to procure jetpacks. Galaar could already make out tiny white dots moving up the cliff face, the first wave had already begun their ascent. Checking the locks on his jetpack, Galaar began to lead his squad to the base of the cliff, motioning for them to extend their packs wings and ignite their thruster the moment they cleared the canopy. Vornskr shot up the side of the cliff, flying past squads of troopers as the struggled to make their way from outcrop to outcrop using ascension cables. Galaar made it to the top of the monasteries wall right as the first squads using ascension cables were scrambling over the side and engaging the defending B1 battle droids. Swooping past them, Galaar fired at the droids from above, destroying several and giving the troopers enough cover so that they could establish a footing and help their brothers over the wall. So far everything was going to plan, the 253rd had established a footing at the monastery and soon would have in under their control. There was only one thing left to do, silence that kriffing ion cannon so that General Skywalker could begin his assault."

Winter break and finally some time to build. I'm quite happy with how this came out and I just want to should out all the 253rd group members who helped inspire this build. I'm a little out of practice with the log, but I figured it would be best to make an attempt rather than not include one. I've got two weeks until school starts up so I'm hoping I'll be able to get at least another build up, most likely something for WiD. Anyway thanks for stopping by and merry Christmas!
