Dendrochilum sp. An undescribed terrestrial(!) species from the ultramafic tabletop of Mt. Hamiguitan, Davao Oriental Province, Mindanao, Philippines. The inflorescences are clearly spiraling.

Flowering in cultivation - March.

This species was named Dendrochilum javieriense, however this is incorrect as that epithet refers to a location. This species was named after a Elias Javier, therefore the epithet should be Dendrochilum javierii.

This species is from the Philippines. Marni Turkel wrote on her web page, "There are two varieties of Dendrochilum uncatum. The species epithet uncatum refers to the sickle-shaped or hooked arms attached to the column that is the defining characteristic between the two varieties. In D. uncatum var. longispicatum, the arms are attached on the bottom of the column, whereas, in D. uncatum var. uncatum, the arms are attached at the middle of the column."
