One of the many Dendrochilum species from the Philippines. It quickly grows into a specimen plant.

An 8-image closeup stacked with helicon focus. This shows about 2 cm of a 30 cm long raceme. Another fascinating orchid photographed in the Peter Black Conservatory, Victoria Esplanade, Palmerston North.

 

Dendrochilum latifolium grows about half a metre high and has spectacular spikes over 30 cm long. It is very impressive and easily produces numerous racemes that last for several weeks. (coelogynes.com/Dendrochilum%20latifolium.html)

Dendrochilum convallariiforme is a miniature flowering species orchid from the Philippines. The flowers are about 5mms across and a lovely salmon colour, arranged along the raceme in an interesting spiral formation.
